No cloak, raven instead, siege mode. . . . 3 tanks and go Raven is really not the best lol. He should have not researched cloack for faster siege and added 2rax if he wanted to commit (I really don't think there were added since he had so few marines). he probably don't use this build often The Raven is needed for that push. For the observers and also for the PDD. Can you really afford (gas-wise) tanks, banshees, siege upgrade, cloak upgrade, and a raven? I really don't think that's feasible. Something needs to be cut out of that and he cut the raven (and forgot siege mode). No. The raven is not needed and certainly puts more hurt on your timing. If you want to add a raven you either build a raven first which hurts your banshee count or you build it after your first banshee (no cloak btw) to have enough energy when you push. The thing is that against a raven the push overall is weaker and the Protoss can force a fight and a PDD before his natural anyways. As already mentioned if you just deal a bit of damage with your first banshee and than slowly push with siege and mass marines at his natural. You focus down stalkers with banshee/siegetank. Even if he cuts your army in half , the power of the forcefield is nearly nullified since tanks have enough range to stand behind and rain hell on stalkers while marines can focusfire the zealots. The most common mistake in execution is to lose the banshees because they rush ahead or lose your high marine count due to own tank-fire, because lots of players don't seem to target stalker/sentry with the tanks. It was just plainly bad executed as much as I like Tarson. Cloak is in my opinion just a lot weaker and naniwa already did him a favor adding immortals which are utterly shit usually against a well played 2-1-1 allin. Naniwa otherwise did it completely right with adding huge stalkercounts and 5-6 gateways.
Nice clarification for people still wondering, thanks : ]

I think thorzain has a mental adventage after beating him in the TSL finals, and TvP being his best matchup and all. I would give a slight edge to Thorzain. Although it's only BO3 so anything can happen. I do think Naniwa has a bigger chance of winning a finals against Ret though.

The commentator are bad? Who is commentating?
And it's a shame only two can go Considering these are the best Protoss, Terran and Zerg in Europe

I'd really like to know the build order to be able to afford everything and the timing of when to push.

I hate how honesty is considered a lack of social skills
Yeah i never got that... Also remember that english is NOT his first language.

So, as a person with excellent social skills, how would you have answered that question? "They both suck and I don't know why they're even at this tournament" jk jk jk Naniwa vs Thorzain is gonna be so goooood :O really hard to call that match. Shame they can't both go to Blizzcon I don't know, maybe use MY BRAIN, and say something like "They pose different challenges, they have different styles, you can't really compare the two, their both great players."
There, done. Don't need to be a genius, just some :"Social Skills"

Well that depends.
Ideally if you're a nice guy (which everyone should be) and genuinely respect your opponents (which also everyone should do at this level) as good players who can beat you, being honest is a great thing.
In all other cases it's better to just act professional even if you don't mean it.

The raven push normally comes quite a bit later. Think it's around 4 tanks and raven+banshees compared to 3 tanks with siege 2/3 banshees much sooner

Executed properly that build almost always kills protoss. Don't play toss either so not whining. I watch almost every game these days, and I have not see a good P hold it vs a good T that executes it properly haha Me neither tbh, it's a pretty brutal push unless they go for the 3gate stargate all in themselves. But i've even seen that lose to it in the GSL :p Its not used THAT often though, i think if Terrans would start to abuse that push more frequently, it wouldnt take so long until Tosses would get better holding it. Dont really know though. The 1-1-1 build that has been having mild success in the GSL is not what Tarson did. He did a cloaked banshee into a marine/tank push with (unfortunately) bad timing and execution.
'Mild success' is a massive understatement. Terran won almost every match against protss in the up/down matches for code S/A using this build.
