In-game sound is really high, I can't hear the casters that much.

113 pages? REALLY? Does nobody care about this tournament?

SC2 scene is very NA-based despite them having the weakest pro scene. This can be seen how overblown every MLG event is.

EU lans (Dreamhack is the exception) tend to get much less attention. There have been some big LAN events with literally 0 coverage on TL.

I dunno, I would rather say that MLGs are way overhyped. I really dont like their rank point system and after Columbus which was total and pure awesomeness I was a bit disappointed in MLG Anaheim. For sure I am not staying up until 5-6am in the future for MLG

I agree, I don't actively watch MLG events myself. I prefer GSL and EU-based events.

But the community seems to make a huge deal out of them every time.

If you don't actually watch them how can you say that you prefer GSL and EU-based events? From imagination?

I watched the important parts of Columbus, didn't watch a single game from Anaheim and won't watch in the future.

Happy?

very unclever since MLG rly is the best event at the moment from quality ^^

The storyline of MLG has been Koreans stomping foreigners ever since they started attending. If I want to watch Koreans, might as well watch GSL, at least I get to see Nestea play. If I want to watch my favorite foreigners, EU events are great for that.

But gonna focus on the actual games now, DIMAGA fighting!

Any one else have a very laggy stream? Sound mostly works (but stops every 20 seconds or so) but the video flow is just 1 picture, 3 seconds pause, 1 picture...

SC2 scene is very NA-based despite them having the weakest pro scene. MLG is seen as the only LAN event that matters, when in reality its just one of many.

EU lans (Dreamhack is the exception) tend to get much less attention. There have been some big LAN events with literally 0 coverage on TL.

This weakest pro scene stuff is seriously blown out of proportion and not cool. Idra and Huk are representing USA in WCG qualifiers. I'd say that's as good as any other single country in the world.

And the U.S. is the #1 watcher of GSL so it's not true that MLG is "only LAN event that matters." Come on. Your post is full of falsehoods.

Two great players don't exactly make my statement any less true. NA is weaker than EU and KR overall, I think everyone has come to accept that by now.

With LAN event I meant these weekend-long tournaments, not longer leagues like GSL or NASL. I dunno how else to put it, so I just call them LAN events.

Obviously the EU runs deeper. For cultural reasons and practical reasons (more countries to draw players from).

But the top pros of EU and NA are no better than each other. It's silly the way people try to draw a correlation between place of birth and skill level. EU and NA top pros are both in the same boat being inferior to Koreans.

Did you think before you typed that?

It can obviously be a difference in skill level between the players in EU and NA if there can be a difference in skill level between EU/NA and Korea.

This is a really passive opening from both players.

I don't agree. HomeStory Cup and Dreamhack are more fun imho.

But lets focus on the games instead on wich tournament is better.

The problem is it wasn't possible to go there just for the finals. I would have gone to watch the finals but then I would've had to pay for the whole two days, and 40 euros for a bo5 is a bit too much for me. If they wanted an audience , they should've either held the finals somewhere else (like dreamhack did iirc) or have tickets for those that would've wanted to go and watch the finals that would've only allowed for entry say 30 mins before the finals start.

They're on the mainstage now afaik, so that changes. Also, there's no bzzz sound anymore on my stream, and it looks good tbh
