Cant believe theres so much hate in these threads while we're so blessed with a wonderful event, with wonderful games. Last warning, whine and insult the players or commentators? See you.

Why were the finals bo3? Because Mvp had to win only a bo3 since hes from the WB?

I'm listening to the MMA cheer before his finals match with MVP, and it was definitively a lot louder being live in the crowd then it was for people watching the stream. So loud it felt like the stadium was shaking with our voices. We cheered so loud previously during some interviews that I couldn't hear some of JP's questions. I wish it picked up in the stream a little better. This was a great competition, and I am happy to have been in the crowd this weekend.
It's only a game. justin.tv/Leo702

he already played mma and won 2-0, and mlg uses an "extended series" format so he only has to win 2 more games to win a bo7.

basically its a bo7 but since they already played, mvp started out 2-0.

So as I understand it MMA gets Code S.

I don't think they had planned for a Code A to get Code S though so how do they replace him in Code A?

I think the spot should go to the highest MLG player to not have Code A ... DRG :p

MMA dropped from Code A to Puzzle in GSL July.

I'm sure they're backup plan is to simply have more code A spots available from the code A qualifiers.

I also feel kind of bad for DRG and race variety, but take away lesser players, not MMA This is a plus for DRG, short of winning code S through MLG. He has one less insane player to potentially play in code A qualifiers.

Didn't realize MMA had dropped somehow (I don't pay quite as much attention to the Terrans ... they all look the same to me :p).

And I wasn't suggesting taking anything from MMA, we just need DRG in Code A. Who knows, maybe he'll get it through qualifiers this time around but that also means someone in Code A is getting kicked out in first round (as DRG has proven capable of beating most of Code A players).

Great tourney as always. I for one welcome our korean overlords in every event. Makes everyone train that much harder I hope and thus making better tourneys overall

No he didnt. Mvp 2-0'd Boxer and 2-1'd Ganzi beforehand. But he didnt play MMA

Don't get how anyone can say the Koreans are robots and have no personality.
- DRG's tableflip in that game against MMA.
- MMA killing his own CC. (Unintentional, I'm sure, but hilarious.)
- Ganzi's somewhat adorable "im ur brother, go easy" moment in Ganzi vs. MVP. Followed by, y'know, one of the most intense TvTs ever.
- Boxer's ".................." and Rain's "T.T" followed by Boxer's "david some do it T>T."
- Boxer: "#1 plz. plz. gg. wp." I teared up.
- MMA vs. Boxer in general.
- MMA playing his fucking heart out against MVP.
- MVP being adorably awkward on-stage.
- Choya being Choya.
- All the hugs. Seriously.

Honestly, the only Korean you can accuse of not showing any personality is Alicia, and that's simply because he got knocked out so early. Check out Milkis's twitter meanwhile, and it gives you a look at those "boring Koreans." Sheesh.

This. So much this. Boxer typing "#1 plz - plz" was the biggest tear-jerker moment for me in SC2 history. I didn't know I could be that emotionally invested in a game until last night, and I have never cheered for a Terran player as hard as I was cheering for MMA in the grand finals. Even with all the great games this tournament that gg from boxer is going to be the part I will remember years from now.

Anyone saying the Koreans have no personality is an idiot. They BROUGHT all the drama and personality to this MLG, moreso than the foreigners.

Well he would be up like that vs any1 (also vs players he didn't play yet), since it's double elim and he hadn't lost yet....

No, look at kiwi vs nani final. The finalist didn't played with more than 7 players before the finals. Anyone else would have had bo7

Started to watch the VoD's since i didn't have any time this weekend.

but I have a question about the VOD's, wasn't it possible to get the 8h long vid, instead of selecting every match 1 by one ?

Naniwa and Kiwikaki had already played, so they did the extended series rule, playing a bo7 with Nani starting out 2-0.

MMA and MVP had not already played, so they followed this rule, which I'm quoting below.

5. If the Players scheduled to play each other in the Finals have not yet played against each other in the Event, an initial Match must be played. If the Player who came from the Championship Bracket Winners Bracket wins the initial Match, they will win the Event. If the Player who came from the Championship Bracket Losers Bracket wins the initial Match, the Match will expand to a Best of 7, include the initial Match, and pick up where that Match left off. For example, if the Championship Bracket Losers Bracket Player beat the Championship Bracket Winners Bracket Player 2 Games to 0 in the initial Match, the Best of 7 will resume with Game 3 and the Championship Bracket Losers Bracket Player leading 2 Games to 0. When the Match is resumed, the loser of the initial Match must select the Map for the upcoming Game. Game 1 of an initial Match must be played on the Map that has been selected for Game 1 of the Finals.

Basically, MVP won the "Initial Match", which is bo3, so he won the event. Going by these rules, had MMA won the third map, it would've been expanded to a bo7 with MMA up 2-1.

So is Terran becoming the new dominant race again like in BW with Flash? There is only one Nestea, but it seems like a ton of top Terrans in the Korean scene right now.

Congratulations to MVP though. He was my guess as to winning MLG.

Please... there were 5 Terrans 1 Zerg and 1 Protoss from Korea in MLG afaik. And a Code S Terran won and a Code B Zerg lost. What does this have to do with Terran dominance?

There were actually 3 protoss, Choya, Alicia and FXOz, but they were all in the open bracket which is especially hard for 'toss because, with so many games played, the chance of running into a PvP (aka coinflip) is pretty high, all 3 ended up getting eliminated in PvP.

I agree that T is not overpowered but I do think it's harder for Terran to get beaten by less skilled players.

It's so optmistic. Koreans won and foreigner training in Korea separated them from foreigners not training in Korea.
Sad day for nonKoreans.

last time it went up to 1400 for all of the wrong reasons

this mlg was epic and very few bad things are said about it
it was run very smoothly and should be the benchmark for future MLG's

Actually some of us prefer watching the best players play against each other regardless of race (in-game and IRL).
