Cant believe theres so much hate in these threads while we're so blessed with a wonderful event, with wonderful games. Last warning, whine and insult the players or commentators? See you. |

Extremely rude, just wanted to point this comment out for more people to see. I wonder how many of you out there thinks just like this guy. Can't beat them? lets try to find other ways to bash them so you can feel better about your self and whatever "race/nationality" you relate to. You are a pathetic person, as are all the people who share your view.
Lol? Calm down bro. Just my opinion, I prefer watching foreigners, I'm pathetic because I prefer watching foreigners? Just because you disagree with it doesn't mean you need to go on a hissy-fit. Your post was more ban-worthy than mine, I'm not bashing any players or anybody at all, I'm saying I found this MLG boring compared to others, just a plain opinion. Events aren't perfect, just because it's starcraft doesn't mean it's perfect and heaven forbid there is a slight bit of criticism. You on the other hand are attacking me for these views, not very fair. I'd rather watch Huk vs Idra than GanZi vs MVP...sorry if that makes me "pathetic". It was your comment of "Koreans with zero personality". Just because you don't relate to them doesn't mean they don't have personality. You're just stereotyping all Koreans as having zero personality which is stupid. I'm fairly sure that anyone who knows what personality is would agree and say that there was minimal personality in the Koreans this MLG. Um, can you cite my any examples of where the foreigner match-ups were brimming over with personality this MLG? It's not like anyone is going to be talking about the zany antics of Sjow v. Haypro for weeks to come. And having Boxer play deep into an SC2 tourney is all the drama that a true Starcraft fan should ever need. Idra vs Cruncher White Ra in general. Why do you think he got such an awesome reception? How about Tyler? IdrA vs cruncher was an awful series... But the act before it built up the hype. Thats what I'm getting at. It made me relive their TSL series. There was no hype at all for that series. It was angry nerd #1 vs bad angry nerd #2. Their TSL series was shit, so was this one. You seem to be a guy who loves to watch drama, I recommend WWE Oh yeah, TSL series was shit... Even though I'm pretty sure Cruncher played a very solid first game and Idra showcased how good Overlord drops were against FE'ing Protoss. So many damn drops everywhere I was amazed how well Idra was playing and was impressed with the effort Cruncher put forth to try and hold. God, everyone thinks it has to be drama... Why can't it be players just messing with each other? I don't get why the fuck you all insist it has to be drama, unless you're so used to seeing TV shows full of that shit.
If you want to watch kids messing with each other please go watch high school football. We're not 10 year olds here who want to watch kids poke at each other..

Believe it or not, there are people that aren't retarded like you. Unlike you, we aren't going to sit here and bitch that there isn't any drama or personality. We will enjoy it if it occurs, but our lives aren't dull enough that we vicariously rely on gamers for fake drama.

White Ra just proves my point. People find him interesting because he's older, and supposedly super nice and plain vanilla. It's his LACK of personality that most people find endearing. But if he were a Korean you would find him boring.
As for Tyler, I suppose he's an interesting guy in general, but what sort of "personality" did he show at this MLG? You got more excited watching Tyler v. ThisIsJimmy than watching Boxer v. Rain? Seriously?
As for Idra vs Cruncher, if that's the sort of thing you want to see more at MLG -- even if the actual series is AWFUL -- maybe you should try watching a different sport.

"They're exactly like him only he does way more. Clearly he hasn't been considered to have a big personality since before he spoke in english. MC's antics have nothing to do with anything. It's all about him speaking English."
I have no clue what your quote is referencing. Either way, read my original post. It wasn't that these Koreans would suddenly rival MC or surpass him in personality if they started speaking broken English. No, it's just that they would greatly enhance that image of "having personality" to foreigners IF they did so. Has nothing to do, really, with how much personality MC has or doesn't have - and quite frankly, I don't give a shit. Was just using him as an example, but got sucked into this useless argument as per usual on TL.

I like the crossout and change of time for the Boxer vs. Rain series. Best BO3 ever.

Right no professional athlete ever acts cocky so our pros shouldn't...
*shifty eyes*
Yes, that was sarcasm, professional athletes are just as bad if not worse. Especially in hockey and basketball. (On that note... fuck Avery.)

Who cares about personality anyway?
Idra himself said, this is video game competition, NOT A DATING GAME. LOLOL
|
Also for those talking about personality and Koreans obviously did not watch a SINGLE Boxer match, dude showed more personality than anyone else this event. Well, besides the Idra Cruncher no handshake TWICE.
|
Top players produce top quality games. Top quality games produce drama in and of itself once the match is over. That's the only kind of drama I need, everything else is extraneous. I was much more into the event when Boxer came out with a 2-1 win over Rain than I was when Idra refused to shake Cruncher's hand.

Can we grab all Code A guys next time? I'm sure Puzzle would love the chance to test his skill out against foreigners. Agreed. This MLG was so boring for me. Every second game had koreans with zero personality. I didn't see a single "omg epic" matchup like huk vs idra or something along those lines which MLG is famous for. Every day when I checked the matchlist upcoming for the day it just got more and more boring. I can't blame the koreans or the management because it would be unfair to not include them but...boy does it make events more boring for foreigner viewers. We already have gom...I'd like to see some foreigners play for once. The skill gap between koreans and foreigners are getting bigger and bigger just like in BW.
People have pointed at the language barrier as an issue for the Koreans. Frankly, I think thats what it is: White Ra can speak English better than just about every Korean who isn't a translator. He gets more of a chance to show people what he is like: A guy who loves his fans, tries entertaining them (special tektiks) and he is very considerate.
Are the Koreans like him? Probably. I guess I need to realize the language barrier will make it seem like they have a lack of personality.

This is a competitive game. Who cares if the players aren't drama queens or the Johnny Depp of gaming. They're professional, and place gaming ahead of trivial and ultimately useless "personality."

Great tournament! I don't think MMA would mind too much losing the finals. Code S would be the more important thing imo

As I predicted, DRG is left with nothing. As I also said, he should have gone through code A qualifiers in a normal way and just prepare better, just like Losira did.
