Hopefully foreigners start to train properly now that they don't have any tournaments where they can hide from the Koreans. Aside from Huk, Jinro and Naniwa there really aren't many with the right attitude.
Agreed. Im here to watch superb micro and control that i could never perform and their crisis management/decision making, player rivalries are fun and all but watching top level players drop/frontal assault/macro perfectly is just pure awesome.
The observer kind of sucked though

Agreed. This MLG was so boring for me. Every second game had koreans with zero personality. I didn't see a single "omg epic" matchup like huk vs idra or something along those lines which MLG is famous for. Every day when I checked the matchlist upcoming for the day it just got more and more boring. I can't blame the koreans or the management because it would be unfair to not include them but...boy does it make events more boring for foreigner viewers. We already have gom...I'd like to see some foreigners play for once.
The skill gap between koreans and foreigners are getting bigger and bigger just like in BW.
Extremely rude, just wanted to point this comment out for more people to see. I wonder how many of you out there thinks just like this guy. Can't beat them? lets try to find other ways to bash them so you can feel better about your self and whatever "race/nationality" you relate to. You're just stereotyping all Koreans as having zero personality which is stupid. I'm fairly sure that anyone who knows what personality is would agree and say that there was minimal personality in the Koreans this MLG. Um, can you cite my any examples of where the foreigner match-ups were brimming over with personality this MLG? It's not like anyone is going to be talking about the zany antics of Sjow v. Haypro for weeks to come. And having Boxer play deep into an SC2 tourney is all the drama that a true Starcraft fan should ever need. Idra vs Cruncher White Ra in general. Why do you think he got such an awesome reception? How about Tyler? IdrA vs cruncher was an awful series... But the act before it built up the hype. Thats what I'm getting at. It made me relive their TSL series. There was no hype at all for that series. It was angry nerd #1 vs bad angry nerd #2. Their TSL series was shit, so was this one. You seem to be a guy who loves to watch drama, I recommend WWE
Oh yeah, TSL series was shit... Even though I'm pretty sure Cruncher played a very solid first game and Idra showcased how good Overlord drops were against FE'ing Protoss. So many damn drops everywhere I was amazed how well Idra was playing and was impressed with the effort Cruncher put forth to try and hold.

Koreans show as much personality as they can without being able to speak the same language as everybody who is there. Boxer and MMA cupping their hands around their ears to get the audience to cheer when they were tossing out a shirt. MVP giving MMA a hug after their series. The team Slayers group huddle for MMA before his match against MVP. They show plenty of personality, and are all extremely classy players.

I suggest you watch the facial features and the hands of the koreans as they are given interviews, it shows most of them are brimming with emotion.

Probably because their normal every day life consists of them doing nothing but browsing TL and finding anything and everything to bitch about. With no actual human interaction, they yearn to see your average human being show their "personality." Amazing how a simple throat slice action or a soda can crush can rile up all the virgin phaggots on this forum.
Try to watch the tournament for COMPETITIVE GAMING for the GAMES rather than seeing a bunch of fake hype. Sad ass people.

Don't get how anyone can say the Koreans are robots and have no personality. - DRG's tableflip in that game against MMA. - MMA killing his own CC. (Unintentional, I'm sure, but hilarious.) - Ganzi's somewhat adorable "im ur brother, go easy" moment in Ganzi vs. MVP. Followed by, y'know, one of the most intense TvTs ever. - Boxer's ".................." and Rain's "T.T" followed by Boxer's "david some do it T>T." - Boxer: "#1 plz. plz. gg. wp." I teared up. - MMA vs. Boxer in general. - MMA playing his fucking heart out against MVP. - MVP being adorably awkward on-stage. - Choya being Choya. - All the hugs. Seriously.
Honestly, the only Korean you can accuse of not showing any personality is Alicia, and that's simply because he got knocked out so early. Check out Milkis's twitter meanwhile, and it gives you a look at those "boring Koreans." Sheesh.

Well, all this personality and Korean/foreigner talk aside. This MLG was actually pretty crappy imo.. seriously, there were too many TvTs.

...and a large part of his personality has to do with his courage to speak English even when he knows it's bad or makes him look foolish. Sure, that courage might not be in most Koreans, but that has more to do with general shyness that isn't necessarily how much "personality" a person has.

I think MLG and Dreamhack have it perfectly...showcasing mainly code B/A players who have great skills but don't get seen a lot because of the punishing GSL format. People are seriously complaining about koreans in foreign tourneys? Foreigner only tourneys are boring as fuck nowadays...just look at IPL.

Cruncher playing a solid game and IdrA doing drops is such a weak argument. Koreans play much more solid games than cruncher and IdrA flying a cloud of overlords filled with hydras and ending the game with that one play is not that awe inspiring. Like drops? Sort of, even in Korea MC does stuff that most koreans don't do, for example like where he brought in his cardboard copy of him self and plopped it against the enemy team in the gstl, or when he sat on a chair in the middle of the whole studio, not to mention his throat slashing etc. The only people who I've seen done anything simillar is TOP with his nunchuks and Ace with his flags.

Very little has to do with what language he speaks. In fact, the fact he speaks english on occasion barely plays into it. It's WHAT he says. Have you seen interviews with him and the cocky responses he gives and the showboating he does? He isn't a douche like idrA. He showboats. It's great. It's fun. The crowd and fans get into it.

If you want to consider it a weak argument, go ahead, but I found it entertaining.
Players messing with each other is having fun. Its about showing that Koreans aren't the scary, "I'll kill you" pro gamers. Its to show that they have fun just like everyone else.
I would go as far as calling it building foreign relations between Korean gamers and foreign gamers.

Those are the guys that the oddballs, not the norm. MC's got personality cause he knows how to speak broken english, pimp walk, and wear aviators lol That's basically it. Convince all of these Koreans to speak their broken English more, and suddenly, in the eyes of these complainers, they'll have more "personality." Man, if you guys can't realize that MC has more personality than almost any player in the world, Korea or otherwise, then there is no hope for you. ...and a large part of his personality has to do with his courage to speak English even when he knows it's bad or makes him look foolish. Sure, that courage might not be in most Koreans, but that has more to do with general shyness that isn't necessarily how much "personality" a person has.
Have you read the GSL interviews with guys like NesTea and FD? Or Byun? As much interesting/personality showcasing stuff as MC, if not more. NesTea is also cocky as hell. Unforunately, they don't do it in English, or showcase it in physical antics like MC, so no one notices/cares, or it's lessened. So yes, it has everything to do with language.

winning trumps personality!!! who cares about a big personality like destiny who is just merely average in play talent when you can be an elite talent who actually wins without an overblown personality like mvp.
