Cant believe theres so much hate in these threads while we're so blessed with a wonderful event, with wonderful games. Last warning, whine and insult the players or commentators? See you.

Pretty much. All people complaining about Korean dominance don't see that it's only cause alot of the foreigner teams are lazy/don't practice nearly as much

HuK practices alot and is actually doing really good.

Agreed. This MLG was so boring for me. Every second game had koreans with zero personality. I didn't see a single "omg epic" matchup like huk vs idra or something along those lines which MLG is famous for. Every day when I checked the matchlist upcoming for the day it just got more and more boring. I can't blame the koreans or the management because it would be unfair to not include them but...boy does it make events more boring for foreigner viewers. We already have gom...I'd like to see some foreigners play for once.

The skill gap between koreans and foreigners are getting bigger and bigger just like in BW.

Extremely rude, just wanted to point this comment out for more people to see. I wonder how many of you out there thinks just like this guy. Can't beat them? lets try to find other ways to bash them so you can feel better about your self and whatever "race/nationality" you relate to. You are a pathetic person, as are all the people who share your view.

Lol? Calm down bro. Just my opinion, I prefer watching foreigners, I'm pathetic because I prefer watching foreigners? Just because you disagree with it doesn't mean you need to go on a hissy-fit. Your post was more ban-worthy than mine, I'm not bashing any players or anybody at all, I'm saying I found this MLG boring compared to others, just a plain opinion. Events aren't perfect, just because it's starcraft doesn't mean it's perfect and heaven forbid there is a slight bit of criticism. You on the other hand are attacking me for these views, not very fair.

I'd rather watch Huk vs Idra than GanZi vs MVP...sorry if that makes me "pathetic".

It was your comment of "Koreans with zero personality". Just because you don't relate to them doesn't mean they don't have personality. You're just stereotyping all Koreans as having zero personality which is stupid.

I'm fairly sure that anyone who knows what personality is would agree and say that there was minimal personality in the Koreans this MLG.

Um, can you cite my any examples of where the foreigner match-ups were brimming over with personality this MLG? It's not like anyone is going to be talking about the zany antics of Sjow v. Haypro for weeks to come. And having Boxer play deep into an SC2 tourney is all the drama that a true Starcraft fan should ever need.

Idra vs Cruncher
White Ra in general. Why do you think he got such an awesome reception?
How about Tyler?

IdrA vs cruncher was an awful series...

He's practicing Korean style. Not saying he's "Korean", but if anything HuK proves that foreigners can be as good as Koreans if they're willing to train like them- all day err' day, and with other top tier players.

Are you serious? Most of the Koreans are just clones of White-Ra - well mannered guys who can all come up with cute one-liners.

Seriously, the stuff MMA/MC did at the last MLG had way more personality than anything from the foreigners (the kamehameha, the throat-slashing, etc.). Btw, you must have missed MMA destroying his CC in his first game against DRG.

MVP is basically a younger Korean White-Ra: nice, endearing, and well-mannered. Sure, he might not give vodka to guys he meets, but he's also only 20 years old.

Edit: see, the biggest difference isn't anything else, it's the language barrier. Personality, unless of the physical antics variety a la MC, doesn't come off in translations.

Are some of you guys really interested in SC2 or are you just looking for an excuse to watch WWE-style teenage angst drama? It seems foreigner fans are more interested in watching people cussing up a storm in their streams and making drama rather than SC2. They could probably substitute replace SC2 with tic-tac-toe and some people wouldn't even notice.

Just sad that there were some awesome games this weekend but people found it boring because their favorite potty-mouth didn't do well.

Why do you think it has to be drama?

Why can't it just be the Koreans messing around with foreigners similarly to how MC does it?

I'm going to say something, and I hope I won't get flamed for it simply because people interpret it as "offensive".

Look, Koreans are great. They are entertaining pro gamers that I LOVE watching for the amount of skill displayed(although mirror match ups get tiresome after a while, but that would happen regardless of who is playing). But frankly, I feel that some of the foreigners get the feeling that the Koreans are all just "we play for keeps, not for fun, we will crush you!". And frankly, when you don't get to see something like how MC/MMA messed with Idra at Columbus, I think that feeling becomes more believable.

*flame shield up*

they come from the other side of the world
they cant speak english

they cant give the drama u want
they were invited, payed, hoped to win games
not to bad mouthing other player
they didnt BM to respect different culture they're having in the live tournament

there's always exception like MC
boxer also did his funny waving hand celebration after he beat idra
but get bored after the next no effort wins he get

Majority of people agree, good players = entertaining games. Foreigners gotta step up their game, show us good play and interesting new builds, and strategies. Ignore the trolls that say how it's boring because Koreans dominated, they're a minority on TL.

There was no hype at all for that series. It was angry nerd #1 vs bad angry nerd #2. Their TSL series was shit, so was this one.

How can people say the Koreans didn't have personality? Boxer was grinning ear to ear after he beat rain, MVP looked very happy when he won. People say MC has personality; the truth is MC speaks some broken english.

The language barrier breaks almost all attempts at displaying a personality. Have any of you ever been on a stage in front of thousands of people and all 1 person speaks the same language as you(the translator)? I suggest you watch the facial features and the hands of the koreans as they are given interviews, it shows most of them are brimming with emotion.

And besides, so far I have seen 3 specific names given out of people that have "personality" among dozens of people we saw in pool play and championship brackets, while there was a total of 8 Koreans. Those are the guys that the oddballs, not the norm.

And frankly, when you don't get to see something like how MC/MMA messed with Idra at Columbus, I think that feeling becomes more believable.

they come from the other side of the world
they cant speak english

they cant give the drama u want
they were invited, payed, hoped to win games
not to bad mouthing other player
they didnt BM to respect different culture they're having in the live tournament

there's always exception like MC
boxer also did his funny waving hand celebration after he beat idra
but get bored after the next no effort wins he get

Hand waving? Girl group dance celebrations are back! T-ara baby lol.
And DRG was pretty much the same as White-Ra without the foreigner history. Good player who's super polite, speaks semi-decent English and wins the crowd over like that.

MC's got personality cause he knows how to speak broken english, pimp walk, and wear aviators lol

That's basically it. Convince all of these Koreans to speak their broken English more, and suddenly, in the eyes of these complainers, they'll have more "personality."

Agreed. DRG got no SPECIAL TACTICS though.
