Cant believe theres so much hate in these threads while we're so blessed with a wonderful event, with wonderful games. Last warning, whine and insult the players or commentators? See you. |

Having no big name Koreans make IPL feel like a second rate amateur tournament (even though its production is so good). Their production quality is so awesome and full of personality. I wish they had more big names participating.
they do have the big names but the exclusion of korean player is a major set back the could've invite the lesser player and still be interesting i.e. moon, guinea pig, july, squirtle etc etc

I don't care that the Koreans are dominating. For me watching pro SC2 is not about race, it's about skill. Where a tournament strives for prestige, like MLG is, there's no meaning if the best in the world aren't competing.

lol if you wanna watch personality please go watch the O.C. or some other lame tv show. This is a competition for the best only. If you wanna see more foreigners play maybe they should step up their game and start practicing more instead of spending half their day shopping, watching tv, drinking, god knows what..

I second that! To the guys saying they watch because of the flamboyant personalities etc. i recommend some Brazilian soap operas On a more serioius note, the Koreans are just different, just because you are not accustomed to their approach doesn't mean they don't have personality. I would prefer watching them play any day instead of watching the foreigners of lesser skill that BM one another or make cheezy jokes all the time.

Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill.
I forgot what a crime it is to post your opinion. I have to admit, they did somewhat bore MLG for me (besides their epic games).

IPL1 was great because Koreans only played in GSL or NASL, so a foreigner only tournament was still pretty appealing.
But since then Koreans play in everything so IPL is all super dated foreign strategies (which is compunded by the fact it's all one month old replays anyway) which all in all makes it pretty dull. There's a lot of money on line though but I'll imagine they will need a format rethink next time out in order to make it profitable and increase stream numbers.

OMG MMA had too much on his shoulders. You could see the burden in his eyes when he stood up on stage just before the finals. aaaaaaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh! awesome games. SlayerSBoxeR is sick!!

I don't understand the mentality of some people. I watch Starcraft because I like Starcraft, not to see some WWE drama with the odd bursts of Starcraft.

It was your comment of "Koreans with zero personality". Just because you don't relate to them doesn't mean they don't have personality. You're just stereotyping all Koreans as having zero personality which is stupid.

Yeah, easily the most "personality" moment of this tournament was Boxer's "#1 Plz, Plz" gg to MMA...such an impactful and emotional moment.

I'm fairly sure that anyone who knows what personality is would agree and say that there was minimal personality in the Koreans this MLG.
Where did he say "ALL Koreans have 0 personality"? I think you're simply putting words in his mouth, which is stupid.

go check the premier events here and the latest event all include korean player (except IPL S2) why ? IMHO its because the majority of viewers think that korean player is more interesting than foreigners if your interest is different from the majority thats why IPL exist but dont blame the koreans if their viewersship is not as high as other tournament and in the end the management might will drop the hammer and call the koreans
and yes u calling the korean has no personality is bashing-ish for (again) the majority

Are some of you guys really interested in SC2 or are you just looking for an excuse to watch WWE-style teenage angst drama? It seems foreigner fans are more interested in watching people cussing up a storm in their streams and making drama rather than SC2. They could probably substitute replace SC2 with tic-tac-toe and some people wouldn't even notice.
Just sad that there were some awesome games this weekend but people found it boring because their favorite potty-mouth didn't do well.
