Cant believe theres so much hate in these threads while we're so blessed with a wonderful event, with wonderful games. Last warning, whine and insult the players or commentators? See you.
Agreed. This MLG was so boring for me. Every second game had koreans with zero personality. I didn't see a single "omg epic" matchup like huk vs idra or something along those lines which MLG is famous for. Every day when I checked the matchlist upcoming for the day it just got more and more boring. I can't blame the koreans or the management because it would be unfair to not include them but...boy does it make events more boring for foreigner viewers. We already have gom...I'd like to see some foreigners play for once.
The skill gap between koreans and foreigners are getting bigger and bigger just like in BW.
Yeah! I mean who the fuck does this new kid "BoxeR" thinks he is? Such a nobody.....!
/sarcasm off
LOL DUDE! You don't watch them PLAY for their personalities. If you want personality buy a lesson from INCholesteroL....

Just wondering, but has anyone coming from losers into the grand finals won a MLG? Having to win two best of threes seems like a huge disadvantage.
Nope, the winner has always been the winner from the winner's finals. The disadvantage is truly huge coming from the loser's bracket. Doing it a Bo7 with the winner's bracket winner starting off with a 1-0 lead like homestory cup would make the finals much more interesting imo. It just doesn't feel as exciting beforehand when you can be pretty sure who's going to win it.

I thought only MLG winner get code S?
If the winner is already code S, it goes to the runner up. If the runner up has code S, it goes to #3. Code S cannot go past top 3. If no one receives code s, they give out 4 code A seeds instead of 3.
But MVP get the code S why does MMA get code S too? I thought there is only 1 spot.

The funny thing is that Koreans have as much personality as you want them to - meaning, if you care enough about the Korean scene to read their interviews and watch available videos (MMA's mini-documentary, Boxer's Wings, etc.), they have a ton of personality. If you blow off the Korean players as having "no personality" to begin with, then you'll learn nothing about them and obviously they'll have no personality to you. Just what kind of personalty do foreign players exhibit onstage that Korean players don't? The complaint that "I wish I saw foreigners play, Korean show no personality!" is bullshit.
Not going to join the hate train but I stopped watching when there were only korean terrans left.
Guess SC2 = BW soon in terms of who dominates always (if not aleady). Will be a bit sad when there are only koreans playing. That will probably ruin the internationsl scene and thus the sc2 scene since korean sc2 scene is just kept alive by blizzard prize money.

Good. a large majority of viewers doesn't care about giving money to undeserving players.
These recent tournaments have been a reality check for most foreigners. Streaming, Coaching, and whatever other side projects within the community don't actually make up for practice. And unfortunately (just as an example) Incontrol practicing against Machine or IdrA doesn't mean jack when DongRaeGu and Losira show up to international events.
It's funny that I get up, read up on the LR and see only complaints about koreans...
...what about uber-super-imbalanced TERRAN?...
Nah, to get more serious: even if it may sound ridiculous, but MLG should really consider balancing out their invites race-wise more carefully. I KNEW that it would be a terran-fest, even though I hoped Alicia would get through. For me, there's only so many TvTs that I can digest, and frankly, I was already "full" after Boxer vs Rain and cheered for DRG afterwards.
To keep it short: I don't have any problem whatsoever with all Koreans top-xyz but please, for the love of little Jesus, try to bring in more zerg/toss players next time

That's the only kind of drama I need, everything else is extraneous. I was much more into the event when Boxer came out with a 2-1 win over Rain than I was when Idra refused to shake Cruncher's hand.
You sir have won this argument! I didnt even hear about idra and cruncher, but i sure as hell watched every second of the boxer vs rain matches. First because your have to watch boxer or you are hurting esports :-))) Second, rain has never shown so many really good makro games. I didnt even see him cheese ones. Maybe he did, but in the games that mettered he played solid, really good makro games. This is enough excitement for me and it is the right one. I dont need Idra to fake some drama so his 12 year old fanboys can be happy and satisfied. And to people who call whitera anything but awesome. Go the fuck back to wrestling!

indeed , i "know" some of the korean players a lot better than the foreigners so for me it's only better the more koreans there are cos it also means higher skill play
and I stopped watching after it was like 4am and I had to get up early in the morning. :o but it has been an awesome event, glad to see boxer in such a good shape. though I have no clue how the final works, what was this either bo3 or bo7 thing? or that mma had to win 2 bo3, while mvp only had to win 1?

The problem is the mlg and gsl scedule. Which top zerg could they invite? Nestea, Losira, Leenok? At the time of the invites all of them had to be planned to stay in korea, because of their gsl games. And rightfully so cause Nestea and Losira had to play a final and leenok had to play up and downs. MC said he does want to practise some in korea so he was not present, and i dont really know any top korean protoss atm that could have contested those terrans, that was not obligated to play in gsl, or was at least planned to play at the time of the invites.
