my only beef with the NASL is that i believe the finals should be 32 player double elimination. this could be do-able with only some games being casted and others being played in observed rooms to prevent cheating etc

Then this means 16 players can come from groups, 16 can come from a few open tournaments hosted during the season. maybe three 5-dollar-buyin double elimination tournaments where the top8 of each tournament qualify to be able to fly to the finals and participate but none of them have trips paid-for so only the ones that pay for their flying can reach the finals, and heck if all 24 of them pay and fly to the finals then those 24 can simply be seeded in to make a slightly larger 40man double elimination tournament

I recall in... was it GSL1 or 2 when there was a state of the game, and someone hastily said.. possibly idra.. that iron had too much nerve issues to pose a threat, but that he was a really good player (this was back when terran was imba and not protoss, so I think it's possible, and I'm pretty sure Idra actually said that). Might've been artosis come to think of it.. either way someone in Korea.

I would like to express my feelings about Puma's pay day. WTF. He beats a bunch of master's league foreigners, one decent foreigner (Ret), a couple of his team members, Squirtle (someone that cant get through round 1 in code A) and July (who is undoubtedly in a slump lately). Now he is guaranteed to get payed approximately as much as a GSL winner and if he beats MC a lot more than that. Bottom line = expect Koreans to flood the "foreigner" scene

Great event. I think NASL is doing a fantastic job considering this is their first time out.

MLG and Dreamhack have been doing this a long time.

I will echo the complaint about the tournament structure. I think its pretty ridiculous these guys have to play a 3 month regular season, fly all the way out here, and then face single elimination in a bo3. I think double elimination is a must, or possibly more group play?

Not really. He's participating in a tournament which he got invited to. And there's no problem with earning some easy money if you got asked to come in the first place. Hell, there's no problem with earning some easy money period. If you can make 25k by participating in low-grade competitions, I'd see no reason to play in harder tournaments for less money.

And there's nothing wrong with koreans flooding our scene. If you don't want koreans flooding the scene, well, foreign pros are going to have to start beating them in tournaments consistently.

Is it just me or was MC getting blind countered every single game. I swear his air play, although very safe, never did a lot of damage. Sen was getting blind spores and all that stuff. Had MC gone for a 2 base timing, I don't think Sen would have held it. He teched to hydras, infestors and sometimes spire all at once without getting units except zerglings. And he even took ninja gold bases.

Mc should just 6 gate him. Sen is never gonna get hydras or infestors out in time considering he techs to lair really late. Also, I'm pretty certain sen getting blind spores would put his economy down and exposed gold bases would be free pickings.
