A lot of the people in this thread. Oh dear lord, please show a little bit of respect? A little bit of restraint? A little bit of dignity?
It is alright to be disappointed. It is alright to not like something.
But what has been shown in this thread, more so than in any other thread that I have seen on TL (and perhaps this is just me not looking hard enough, who knows) is that this community has parts of it that is a huge, festering sore.
People like me, new to the site just swearing, starting flame wars, having nothing constructive nor positive to contribute.
It might be sad that NASL is struggling so much with production. It might be sad that Koreans are completely outclassing the opposition.
But it is truly sad to read the majority of comments in this thread. I agree, but there is a reason this is happening. I have never seen a TL thread like this, and that in itself says something. I feel really terrible for NASL right now. Their hearts and intentions were in the right place. With that said, I feel the same as 90% of the thread posts. Its been pretty damn bad thus far. You must not have seen the MLG Dallas thread
I'll admit I didn't, hence "I have never seen a TL thread like this."

Please, every Nasl thread has been like this. People are just holding a grudge, most of the issues right now are minor and the majority of the whining is from europeans who are tired and grumpy.
minor like not even able to fix the sound for 6 hours? they started at 2pm est and there's still sound issues, which is pretty funny.

Seriously ? The MLG thread that managed to get us to eagles and flying cats? Pretty much was as bad if not worse than this, even resulted in full refunds etc.
I'm sure NASL will get it cleaned up going forward, make an apology, offer some sort of discount/refund to those that paid, and we'll move on.
We get it people from Europe, you aren't happy that it has dragged on and is late there, we get you are unhappy and that Dreamhack went very smoothly, we get it already.

Personally, despite the huge delays between the games I am really really enjoying this.

i mean he made a good choice competing in foreign scene rather than trying for gsl and failing

They brought in more balanced caster pairs(Inc and Gretorp was lacking a play by play hype guy).

Its perfectly normal and healthy. This thread is acting as a means of 1000's of people to vent their frustrations at their NASL experience. Whats the problem? You know what's worse than whiners? People who whine about whiners!

But it is truly sad to read the majority of comments in this thread. That's what happens when there's this much downtime and people are bored out of their minds. If we were kept busy with games, people wouldn't complain as much. But what else are we supposed to do while we wait an hour between each Bo3? Joking around at the expense of the NASL guys.

I don't think NASL could afford to issue any sort of refund or discount. That's my opinion. I see this league folding way earlier than the 3 seasons they "guaranteed".

On July 09 2011 09:02 nicknt wrote: i dont think foreigner team houses setting up outside Korea will help much. Foreigners need to practice and train on the korean ladder.
It's not the houses or ladder. It's the culture that promotes incredible work ethic. It's the same reason why the top American universities (aside from the top privates) are brimming with Asian students.
One aspect of Korean culture that stands out to me is an enormous respect for elders or superiors. One of the reasons why Koreans are willing to practice such ridiculous hours is that they have coaches, whom they respect, forcing (or encouraging but I still say forcing) them to do so. Is there anyone at the TLO house who runs the show and forces players to practice a certain amount? I doubt it.
