It's okay to want to prove yourself, but if you're good enough you will meet these great players late in the tourney anyway. There's so much money on the line. It's their careers! I dunno, maybe I'm wrong but you'd think it'd be better to pick more tactically.
sC said he wanted to face MVP sooner rather than later, if they both advanced from this group they wouldn't of face each other untill the finals I believe and I think the longest preparation time for any part of the tournament is the Selection -> Group stage period of time so really, picking someone to play during the group stage gives you alot more time to prepare then if you met them in other rounds.

That's not what he said. Unless you think everyone that isn't "top terran" is mediocre. Talk about living in a black and white world... Well I would say other than the 2 mentioned, they are Code A Terrans at best. To me, Code A is mediocre. What would you call that level of player?

MC has two first round exits in a row, NesTea got knocked out first round March, MKP has gotten knocked out first round of every single regular season except January, Mvp got knocked down to Code A.... etc.

But the GSL tourneys can be very unpredictable due to the format and the huge amount of time players have to prepare for the matches. Foreigner tournaments are very predictable in comparison.

I hate the tank/hellion playstyle. I think its really lame

wtf was that by MVP ? just run helions against tanks ?

Hellions facepalm timingare always spot on.

It'll actually be pretty hilarious if Zenio and Byun end up advancing from this group.
I think this was the only group where people were almost certain about the outcome...

MVP tilting a little bit?

Right that too. Up/Down gets a bit more tense

Wow MVP lose his raven and a lot of stuff for 2 tanks and some hellions :o

I really hope Byun makes it through. He deserves it for the game he played against Zenio

Just because someone is labelled the best DOES NOT mean that they automatically will win everything and destroy everyone.
And those who complain about Z being too strong... They've just figured shit out. Rewind 4-5 months ago and Z won effing nothing and were the ones always writing stuff like "OMG the photon cannon is so imba !" "Buah thors cant be killed, pf's cant be killed, nothing the terran makes can be killed"
/End of rant
Lol then they got infestors turned into godless killing machines and the other races got nerfed fairly hard in that timeframe. Z didn't even really figure much out, they just started taking faster thirds since warpgate and stim got nerfed and droning like madmen until common push timings.

I'm really not a fan of the IM mech style...doesn't utilize multi-tasking abilities as much as bio, which is what MVP is known for.

I'm weirded out by this game.
So much odd attacking.

They are often knocked out by players who either win GSL or make top 4.
It just means that the best players are favored in sc2, but not expected to always win. It's not the same as brood war.
