lol, you misunderstood. Code S wasn't columbus

Pro Circuit Players Competing in the GSL
At MLG Columbus, the Top 3 non-Korean finishers will each be placed into GSL Code A. At every 2011 Pro Circuit Live Competition after MLG Columbus, GSL placement will occur as follows:
Code S status will be awarded to the highest placing player, regardless of country of origin, who doesn't already have Code S status.
Code A status will be awarded to the next 3 highest placing non-Korean players.
If Code S status is awarded to a Korean player, Code A status also will be awarded to the 4th highest placing non-Korean player.
All travel and accommodation expenses for these players will be provided by the GSL.
Also top 3 foreign seeds that were awarded code A status (unless they gave their spot away: EG.Idra (4th)(probably gave his seed away) ROOT.Slush (5th)(Slush is now with Team Reign)(don't know?) DIGNITAS.Naniwa (6th)(accepted code A seed)
MLG had the right to grant three Code A spots to top competitors at MLG Columbus. Naniwa accepted that offer and will participate in the GSL August.
FXO.Sheth placed 14th at MLG Columbus, and was awarded a Code A seed.
Hope this clears things up guys.
edit: additional info.

Wow. Alot of good players in Code A should be as much fun to watch as Code S! MMA and Jinro Fighting!
|
Rainbow come back! He had better results as Hopetorture. I liked the name. Rainbow sounded gay o.O
I really hope San doesn't get sent to Code B he's one of my favorite players, but I want Sheth to do well also, I have a feeling its not gonna look good.

when is the next code A/S starting?

Wow, I am not happy with these brackets AT ALL. Sheth gets screwed, Jinro or BoxeR gets screwed, RainBOw gets screwed, GuMiho gets screwed, Nuclear gets screwed, Puzzle gets screwed, but most importantly THE FANS GET SCREWED because we can't see all these amazing players make it further that Ro32 or Ro16.

Are you crazy? Do you prefer that the first two rounds all have clear favorites with walkover games and you're left with your 8 'top' favorites to duke it out, same matchups every time? This is a great problem to have, it means we'll see better games more consistently.

I don't care about great games in Code A, Code A is for cheering my favourite players and hoping they get to Ro8 to get into Code S. I'll worry about good games when I'm watching Code S.

Man, loads of games I'm looking forward to here, gonna be a packed GSL season.

Edit :nvm it was through MLG should have read through more of the thread.
Its gonna be tough against San, hes taken out nestea before.

Sorry but I feel like that is the wrong sort of attitude to have towards Code A. If you really want good players in Code S then you need to have good players in Code A and thus the competition needs to be...well, competition. Code A is definitely not just for cheering on your favorite players.

Wow, these brackets are so stacked! It's going to be difficult for anyone, including MMA, to get to code S. It almost seems like a crime that only 8 of these will go to the Up/Down matches. I'm rooting for Jinro, Boxer, Sheth, Soccer, Lyn, Check, Rainbow, and it's IMPOSSIBLE for all of them to reach Ro8 this season =.=

Agreed, Code A is actually a strong competition worth watching. Last season Bomber vs MVP was a far greater final than Nestea vs Inca. Heck, a lot of Code A games were fantastic, its a shame Code A gets underrated as "the second best" of Korea as opposed to "the future" of Korea.

Lol such a terrible attitude, alot of times you see just as good if not better games then code s. If your cheering for all these players anyways whats the difference between watching them in code a or code s anyways =/

At this point the level of play in Korea is so high the only 'walkover' opponents are the few remaining veterans barely hanging onto vestiges of their past glory like Check and theWind. Guys like Tails and Puzzle don't have as much name value as San but IMO they'd be just as much of a threat to make a deep run. Although Sheth almost certainly won't make it to the Ro8 since he's on a collision course with MMA, San hasn't shown anything impressive since Khaydarin amulet was removed so I think Sheth has a reasonable chance of winning.

The only thing I ever look forward to is incredible high level play that is going to blow my mind.
This code A will deliver that. Also, I'm glad that Thorzaine and Naniwa are able to wait a month and get some real solid practice in before they try for their code S run.
I expect big big things this summer GSL, and they're looking damn fine so far.

I fully expect Jinro to drop out of Code A. I'm not a hater just I lost faith. It's very unlikely that he will perform any better than during Dreamhack and we all saw it: it wasn't all that good.. Sorry Jinro.
