Sadly it seems I have to put this up yet again. Any of the following types of posts will be met with immediate bans:

Imbalance whine/Player bashing/Caster bashing/Stream complaining/Off topic arguing.

Stick to the games and enjoy the event and its free services and coverage.

This is a huge part of why djwheat is so good (unless you don't like his voice, which is understandable...) He knows that he doesn't know, and how to involve himself and whoever he's casting with.

i guess if you like someone talking about their child 100% of the time, djwheat is good...

Kinda like you making bullshit comments 100% of the time. Oh see what I did there.

Gimme a break, he talks about his kid on a very infrequent basis. This is ridiculous the casting bashing in this thread. I think Day9 and dApollo did a fine job in Dreamhack.

I've watched a TON of djwheat's commentaries and I think he's mentioned his kid like 2 or 3 times. And it was literally a mention that took like 2 seconds, nothing more.

This kind of non sense trolling should have no place here in TL, not to mention this thread...

Yup I agree. If you are going to insult a commentator in a thread that has nothing to do with them, then at least use actual facts rather than make shit up.

all these casters need to get their audio running through a stereo compressor before being broadcasted. it would completely nullify any of the screaming and balance out the level of their voices. this has been standard in radio since basically the beginning of radio. i hate putting on a sc match before i go to bed and setting the volume at a level i can barely hear it and can fall asleep to, only to have day9 scream is head off and wake me up at some point. i like his casting a lot, but he reallyy needs to get that bit under control. its not bashing, its being honest.

Wow, Nightfly IS a troll. I literally just came from a thread where everyone was complaining about Nightfly thinking Polt is a one-base loser.

Who do you like, Nightfly, if you hate Polt and djWheat? Satan? Hitler? Activision?

EDIT: Also he apparently doesn't think Day9 is a good caster. This is ludicrous.

so sad for naniwa currently there are no foreigners able to compete with the koreans, i dont get why .
i mean torch said somethign very smart about it: foreigner pros are interacting a lot with the comunity and not focusing nearly enough on the game, on the long term we're going to see the koreans dominating once again if the trend doesnt change.
and that's exactly what's happening

No offense but that's a pretty stupid comment from Torch. Interacting with the community doesn't make you a worse gamer by any means. Korean dominance has more do to with the (politically incorrect) fact that the average intelligence is higher in Korea and in East Asia in general, and that is also the reason China is pumping out millions of engineers and scientists, and Japan is a leader in hi-tech industries.

And that's a big part of the reason why we see Koreans dominating these competitions.

I'm really interested to see greenlanders play starcraft.

The picture made its rounds on reddit a few weeks ago, the majority pointed out it's inaccuracy: Look at North Korea.

That is incorrect. The majority tried to come up with explanations why this would be inaccurate, but no criticism would stick. Richard Lynn has spend whole books countering the arguments you are referring to, and he has done so well. Regarding the North Korean datapoint - it is based on a (relatively small) number of North Korean refugees in South Korea. Many other countries' datapoints are also based on small sample sizes. This is, however, irrelevant. Many studies have found the same broader pattern to be true, regardless of small variations in average IQ as a result of small sample size in some datapoints.
so you really think the main reasons koreans are dominating sc2 is because of their superior intelligent?
im not going into the debate about how true that diagram is

Yes, I think Korean dominance is a combination of both Korean culture and Korean intelligence. And judging from the reaction here on TL, that is a very controversial opinion.

I didn't really think it was off-topic, since the Koreans are obviously dominating Dreamhack (see the connection?), but since the mods say so... I will say no more of it. Let the semi-finals begin! Gogo Huk!

User was temp banned for this post.

Yeah dude im pretty sure that the only reason that koreans generallyexcel more at this game than foreigners is because of their practice regimes, and that a high percentage of players in the west just play the game a few hours a day. Im pretty sure Idra one time on SOTG said that he practices only 3 hours a day or something ( dont quote me on that ), and with him being one of the best foreigners it demonstrates that many pros dont play enough

Yes, I kinda like Hitler. Satan and Activision not so much.

I never said I hated either Polt or djWheat, just that I think Polt's success will not last and that djWheat talks about his child an awful lot. The first is my opinion which I thought I was free to have, the second is fact.

I don't get why people say the finals were bad. When Moons 6 pool and super roach ling pressure were t HuK's natural the pylon barely got up in time. Was so nerve racking for me the whole time. Great finals all around imo.

probably because no game lasted more than 5 minutes and that many people felt neither really deserved a first place finish.

I used to think Day 9 was a good caster, but at various times over the weekend I find him either too shouty or too biased. Not saying I'm surprised, but it still didn't sit right.

He was good when he was quieter, but when he was shouting... gah, I was desperate for Total Biscuit to be on so I could listen to him instead.
I'm not bad at Starcraft; I just think winning's rude.

Wait, you are complaining about Day9 screaming, but then you were desperate for Total Biscuit? Everytime I listen to him, he's yelling. O.o
