Sadly after all this time with so many tournament threads it still is not clear to many users on this site. There are several types of posts that are not acceptable in tournament threads. Any form of:

Imbalance whine/Player bashing/Caster bashing/Stream complaining

Will result in two day to a week long bans even for first offenses. Please stick to the games at hand and enjoy yourselves with a beautiful event such as this and the free service that comes with it.

One botched baneling detonation, and one silly comment from Huk on SOTG and everyone assumes he's terrible. Sigh.....

I don't want to start an argument here, but watching his NASL games, watching his LAN games - ALMOST always, Moon wins in an extremely sloppy fashion. His NASL games are extremely unimpressive for the most part and his control is distinctly average.

You cite his games from this tournament....vs Tarson was one of the worst games of this LAN. The reason why most people doubt Moon is that he has yet to win games with either inspirational play, or pure dominance. His work in IEM World was the closest he ever really got to something special imo (and the bane detonation on Slush).

Yes, it says something that Moon can still be a powerful presence on the foreigner scene - but if YOU watch his games, almost every match is filled with very visible flaws (it's like watching Grubby play basically at this point, but a bit better).

Koreans dominating again. How do they fare in series now? Like.. 15-1??

Not too surprising though. Perhaps the only surprise for me was moon 2-0'ing White-Ra. I mean, White-Ra is an amazing player, I thought he would be capable of beating moon, who's not that impressive.

That said, I think that while moon isn't that good at SC2, he's got sort of a "champion's heart", he always seems to pull off some ridiculous unheard of skill when playing in LANs, that's why I never count him out. His WC3 stage experience has made him a tremendous competitor.

Why are people so nationalistic? If koreans win everything because they're better, whine about how your nation's players can't compete.

I agree 100% with you.

Bombers TVP is crazily good. Even better than Polt´s.

Based on what? When bomber played MC in the GSTL he tried a cheap 4 rax marine only cheese lol.

When White-Ra was in Korea pre-4-gate nerf, Bomber beat him 8-2 and the two losses were due to 4-gate rushes.

Sigh, another game won by MC...

Don't get me wrong, MC is a great player, he is just kinda boring to watch, TBH. Blink stalkers aren't that exciting...

Agreed, having watched July vs Thorzain, its like there is two different games. We simply dont have any foreign zerg atm that can handle a protoss like MC. Socke destroys zergs as well. We have Sen and July, thank god.

crappen must've not watched MC vs. Losira game 2 in MLG. MC's games are only sometimes boring because they're ridiculously one sided since he's so much better than the people he plays against. He shows amazing games when matched up against equals like Losira

I have, several times. It's burnt into my memories, those games. What I was trying to tell, was that MC just roflstomps foreign zergs, only the kind of Losira can handle him properly, give him a run for his money. This is why MC is often very boring to watch in zvp, very few can take him head on.

lol? idra 2-0'd mc at mlg. then he got 4-0 then 2-0'd.
one result doesn't indicate much...

MC was jetlagged or as he did put it:

"First my condition bad, energy drink afterwards condition good, IdrA 0-4 cry very much"

exactly my point, one result doesn't indicate much
saying moon may beat naniwa isn't far fetched

70 food lead = bad play? oh, wow, idra haters are just as bad as idra lovers.

Massing pure Roach = bad play. I'm sorry that IdrA can't win with one unit.

The problem with this statement is the "Idra can't win with one unit" remark, when that's exactly what MC did. Not saying there is necessarily an imbalance, just pointing out that your statement doesn't make sense.

How does zerg win with a single unit? Blink stalkers can do it but even MC had sentries

All of his sentries died to the burrowed roach attack at MC's front. I'm pretty sure he didn't make a single one after that - just pure stalkers. And an immortal or two (not that he needed it). Roaches just get owned too hard by stalkers, it would be like massing hydras against colossi, or massing zealots against roaches or some stupid situations like that.

Lol this is new. Roaches get owned too hard by stalkers? You mean the unit that costs half that of a stalker but can beat it one on one in equal upgrades, from the race that is able to have a better early and mid-game econ? Blink is the only reason they are good, but let me direct you to the infestor which locks them down and deals damage. Look at game 2 of IdrA and MC at MLG, they were on equal bases, MC constantly denied the gold base, but IdrA steamrolled his blink stalkers when they had infestor support (and no the immortal neural parasite did not do enough damage to make it like 30 roaches surviving). Ever consider the possibility that IdrA just played horribly and MC played like MC?

Hm. I don't see what you're getting at. Are you denying that mass roach loses to mass blink stalker? No shit infestors are good. Idra didn't have any, and he needed to. If not that, then quicker hydras or something. Seems like you think I'm QQing or something.

Mass roach beats mass stalker. Infestor takes away the blink ability, roaches win easily. You compared it to hydralisks versus colossi...which is completely wrong.

I think Socke has better pvp, but I am rooting for Huk. I'll like to see Huk v MC or Huk v Bomber in the finals.
Easiest match to predict is Sen > July, since July's zvz has been pretty weak.
Bomber vs MC could be the championship round. I'll say MC > Bomber (but no clue really)
Moon > Naniwa, no idea again, but seems like Moon gets overlooked despite his constant solid showings. No one ever thinks he'll win it all, but some people actually trash him despite him showing he's a very solid player.

I don't see Moon beating Naniwa. Moon is a solid player who has pretty decent showings in foreign tournaments, but I think he would struggle against most Code A Korean players or top 3-5 foreigners.

Perhaps in ZvZ or ZvT, Moon has very solid ZvP. It took MC to knock him out of MLG and he just beat White Ra 2-0, so I would not be so sure.

Moon lost to Huk and Naniwa too, so I am not sure whether ZvP is actually his best MU. Moon sometimes just plays well and sometimes does something pretty bad that makes him look like a noob.

his early game was very good, putting those spores down in perfect positions,
but apparently he thought he was SO ahead that it warranted him going pretty much pure roaches.
that does NOT work against a protoss player, especially a player like MC whose control is just out of the world.
idra could've wont he game easily if he had gotten hydras sooner, or even speedlings, or infestors..

....

TL;DR
FF needs T2 counter. Unborrowing beneath a FF should break it, banelings should destroy them or they should just have a health bar.

What are you doing here? Get out.
First off, TL;DR yet joins the discussion without reading any counter parts? Sweet lord.

You're forgetting forcefields is at times the only way a protoss can fend off early aggression.

3 koreans on 1 side of the bracket. July isn't quite as consistent as bomber/mc so that's lucky for everyone.

I kinda lost my respect for IdrA..I've been a fan for a long long long time..but when he disappoints his fans that have waited hours for his games and leaves that easy as he did in game 2 vs MC..that just upsets me.

He screwed it up bigtime for sure with his transition into the game but still.. not microing his units good enough and leaving when he actually got a semi-good chance to get back into the game..that just makes the fans upset.
I dunno if he is scared about humiliation but when he leaves as he does in his games he makes people think he is a quitter. And thats worse..Anyways he is a very talented player..but he seriously made alot of fans wait for practically nothing at all. NesTea would never leave in such a state of the game at least.

I always said SEn is the best non KR Zerg there is and it wouldnt suprise me if I see him winning the whole shit now..I hope he beats July next.

What are you on about? He's stayed in games a lot longer than previous at Dreamhack. He's GAINED respect from me. But none the less I'm not sure what you're expecting him to do after his army is dead. Pull all drones and attack the Stalkers?

Let's be honest, Idra is not on MC's level so we shouldn't use their games for balance insight.

Losira absolutely raped MC. Zergs like Nestea, July would be better and the new generation of zergs like DRG and Line would probably give him headaches as well.

Then I'm very worried because Idra has dominated the foreign scene pretty much. Destroyed IPL, destroyed all of his competition in MLG (barring Thorzain). The foreign scene doesn't have much hope to beat Korea if Idra isn't on MC's level.

Naniwa and Thorzain should get better in Korea.

I would say those two, with Sen, are the best three foreigners now anyway. Idra has regressed since coming back to the States. He admitted to only practicing three hours a day and won't be getting better if he doesn't go balls to the wall.

I would call White-Ra a top 5-ish foreigner and he got demolished. Moon is fantastic but not solid. Never was in WC3(except at 2006 when he was on another level) and never will be in SC2. Solid is not his thing, genius and inspiring play is.
