We will be moderating harshly in this thread. Think twice before you post. Things we are watching for: image macros, balance whining, "eagles", player bashing etc. We encourage civil and reasoned critique of our moderation - please post it in the website feedback forum.
Please don't complain about MLG stream quality or MLG itself. They work very hard to provide you with an enjoyable service.
Enough with the racism discussions, this is a LR Thread. Cut it out. -- updated 7:55 KST |

Losira hits something like 350 APM and constantly abuses map control with speedlings. He does things like snipe off colossus with speedlings, frequent runbys, and baneling bombs - the things that IdrA claims only works against "worse" players. Yet it worked against MC.
IdrA plays a very methodical, macro style that focuses on getting a better economy and more units than his opponent while making routine timing pushes. Or he all-ins. Neither of these styles seem to work very well vs. MC.
Did he ever seriously try? I always have the impression he is limiting himself by constantly proclaiming what has to be and has not to be. It's a shame, really. I think he is an awesome player all the drama aside.

MC plays too cookie he has gone for stargate everysingle pvz, losira was just so prepared.

QUOTED FOR TRUTH!
This should be on the front page of TL. If Koreans come into the western tournaments and take all the money then the western scene is dead. Players like Naniwa and Thorzain could not afford to attend these tournaments if they had not won previous ones. In the future those types of players simply won't show up, because it will be a given that the Koreans will win. Don't invite the best in the world because we are to bad to compete with them? Players like Naniwa have said that they WANT to compete against the BEST otherwise it is not a true "competition".. The more integrated the western and Korean scene becomes is BETTER for esports as a whole. BW died out everywhere except in Korea - having Koreans fly in for foreigner tournaments works against that same outcome. Anyway; i really want MMA to take this!!! Even if he loses though then we get MMA vs MC? I'm getting pretty depressed by this attitude. Last I checked we were trying to call this an e-SPORT, as in a competition. If we're going to not have the best players... why bother trying to call it a sport? It's been raging for ages with people saying that the Koreans really aren't the best. Well, 6 of them came to MLG, 3 of them made top 3, two of the others were knocked out by one of those 3.... They're better. Why should worse players win lots of money? Because you like them more for playing worse? +1 not inviting the best just so u can win??, those are the attitude of losers I understand and agree with your sentiment. Only the best players should win the best tourney. Which is where the GSL comes in, with a top prize of about $87000. You need to CULTIVATE roots-level first. I might have won my leagues premiership last year, but I don't feel the Spainish international team should have been flown over at the leagues expense, to find out who the best is. And also, if you want "TEH MASSES!!!" to tune in, you need someone who you deem to be on an obtainable level, and for the 15 year olds just tuning in who may or may not be "The Next Jinro," it is VERY hard for that kid to aspire to be a pro when Koreans are winning whatever they enter. I'm not saying "BAN KOREANS!" I'm saying, if Koreans want to participate in a chance to win $5000 in 3 days, let them pay for travel expenses, and fight for their seed points, just like Americans have to do in the GSL, and just like Americans have to do with the MLG. I'm asking for no privledges. Equality. If anything foreigners are getting the better treatment. The GOM/MLG deal gives MLG winners auto-seeds into Code A/S (don't remember the exact details right at the moment), and both of those tournaments are far, far more competitive and difficult to perform in (or even get into) than MLG. GOM is doing the exact same thing for foreigners so you don't have a whole lot to complain about. Except for the part where the foreigners are gone for ONE MONTH. For one whole month they can't compete in any "westerner" tourneys/showmatches without lagging around everywhere. Where with the MLG, the Koreans are "out of action" for THREE DAYS, and even for those 3 days, the GSL stops, so they're not losing any other potential income. Which is why you've seen the best Koreans out there in July, MC, Losira, and MMA accept, where the best foreigners have already said "No I will not take the Code A ticket, to leave for 30 days." Even more so, when 4th place MLG attracts the same amount of prize money as first place Code A. So we have... 10 times the length, losing tourneys, for 1/3rd of the cash. Foreigners are getting 30 times less potential money per day, and they're getting treated better? Yes, they are getting treated better. As you can see the Korean scene is far better. A month of training in Korea is MUCH better than winning a couple $100 tournaments every week even if you don't perform well in Code A. And not being able to perform in Code A is NOTHING BUT THE FOREIGNER'S FAULT. sorry for GOMTV expecting the 6.5 billion other people in the world outside of Korea to produce at least one competitive foreigner. which I hope is Naniwa, and I hope he gets accepted into the ogs house somehow. The koreans have had 20 years of being on Korea.... You expect Naniwa to take a Code A spot, be there for a month, then join the Koreans on their level?..... In order to LIVE in Korea like Jinro and HuK do, you NEED money. Whats the way a SC2 player gets money? Sponsors, and tourneys. Liquid has good enough sponsors to afford it, as so does FXO. The majority (regardless of skill) simply cant afford it. At this rate, we won't see Nani/Thorzain at the next MLG. Then, over time, you will see Americans lose interest in playing professionally too, because the only things they can win are the $100 show matches each week. Then, the crowds will leave. The die hards (like yourself and I) will still keep an eye on GomTV, but NA will lose depth. Don't kid yourself. The same thing happened in SC1. Why would SC2 go any different with the same direction? You have no clue. Just the mere fact that a few pro gamers have a house in Sweden should indicate that THIS IS NOT BW. Why are you so depressed?
I'm not depressed, I'm concerend. Read my first post and you will see why.
A couple of pro houses in Europe, and a couple in NA mean that the entire westerner scene is safe-as-"houses" ? I disagree. These houses cost MONEY.
As the prize money increases, and we attract more attention from the Koreans, NA players will find it harder to win, and thus harder to pay rent. Then the houses are gone. I don't know why people don't understand the economics of the situation at hand.
If you want SC2 to be for the elite only, expect it to go the way of BW.
Oh well.... At least we might learn the lesson for SC3, in 2034

Holy shit. I just checked the TLPD for whatever reason and saw that MLG matches entered and updated all the way up to the match that just happened five minutes ago.
Props to whoever's on top of this. Amazing.

I haven't really watched Losira's camera before. Does he normally have all these twitches?

Lets go Losira, beat MC so you can throw away more huge attacks into siege tanks in the finals. I want MMA to win a tournament sooo bad. He deserves it.

While you are at it, find the youtube video of the korean casters casting that specific part. It's pretty damn funny.
