We will be moderating harshly in this thread. Think twice before you post. Things we are watching for: image macros, balance whining, "eagles", player bashing etc. We encourage civil and reasoned critique of our moderation - please post it in the website feedback forum. Please don't complain about MLG stream quality or MLG itself. They work very hard to provide you with an enjoyable service. Enough with the racism discussions, this is a LR Thread. Cut it out. -- updated 7:55 KST

I don't care about watching barcelona vs real madrid in the champions league, but as soon as a british team's involved I will watch! He didn't say players he knew. He said "without any white players." So even if there were NA players who were asian or black he wouldn't be interested regardless of knowing them or not. That is indeed racist.

We've been following the Son of Boxer! We've witnessed Losira trying to design what we now call the 2base roach/ling-push to punish 3gate expand! GSL representin'! Agreed, i honestly prefer watching koreans the games are of a higher skill level, i wanted nothing more than to see a korean finals ^^ it will just make foreigners work harder anyways. I really love naniwa would have loved to see him take it as well, but top foreigners have been acting a little ridiculous near the end of this tournament, Naniwa's dance of death and idras cheeses and 5 minute gg's. koreans deserve the win!

I don't want to see that happen, but it will if western tournaments keep inviting Koreans to dominate and take all the money. progamers don't play for money. if they wanted money they can work at mcdonalds and make 99% more than any north american "pro". progamers play for competition and because they genuinely love the game. if you play sc2 to make money and to dodge top competition, then you're a loser that's making probably 15k a year when you could make more at mcdonalds.

This is simply one tournament out of lots of tournaments that there are. Last MLG we saw Naniwa, a European, beat out everyone in an convincing fashion. It just means they did very well this tournament and that's what we should take from it. Only if they start dominating all foreign tournaments can we state that Koreans > Rest of World. And, unfortunately, once "Koreans > Rest of World" becomes true, the game will become much less popular in Europe and America. ![]() They are currently the best. This can't be denied. They have a way better infrastructure currently than the USA or Europe. But with MLG and having the Koreans play against the foreigners, the infrastructure in both will get better and the skill cap will close.

So you would rather the foreign skill level stay the same than rise higher above by playing Koreans Meh, it could happen. I could see an argument both ways, actually. Sports (not just eSports) that a country is not good at slowly fades out of popularity in that country, which means less tournaments, which means less skill and talent. It's like a vicious cycle. People like their own country's players. BW never went beyond a niche scene in the West with a viewership in the mere thousands. WC 3, however, had a huge following in Europe because of stars like Grubby. Which path will SC 2 take? I think it remains to be seen. I don't think we should judge based on one MLG though.

Now going to Shanghai for the ro4 of the 8400 Stars Wars tournament basically right after this. Poor dude will be so fucked up from jetlag. I'm curious to see how Dreamhack Summer goes. TSL was on online cross-server tournament, almost everyone but MC hates them. I mean, Nestea got 2-1'd by Ddoro in a cross-server tourney.

Its suprising the amount of people that have this attitude, i have heard similair comments in LR threads a number of times, people like that dont deserve to be in the starcraft community, starcraft wouldnt be what it is today without korea and koreans.

If the Koreans aren't allowed to come, every champion will just be a paper champion that won't be considered the best because of the competition. If the foreigners want to get better, they need to play the best in the world. They can come if they pay their own way. What makes me sick is we are paying their way to kill our own scene. Koreans will take all the major money from this MLG. That is gonna really hurt the scene. Do you think Thorzain and Naniwa will pay their way to come to the next MLG to watch the Koreans take it all again? How about the MLG after that? It will quickly kill the scene with the Koreans winning everything.
