i face the push ALL THE TIME in master league. exactly the way MKP did it the counter is to use a standard build but from now on i always keep 100% of my army spread out at my expansion awaiting the coming emp timing push. the counter is having pre-spread units and also during battle i dont 1A my force and forget it, i 1A and then select varioud groups and unclump them before they have time to clump and i spread my units while the fight is going on the counter to EMP is good spread micro. if you dont do that and your entire army can get EMP'd then you lose automatically. thats the reality. i have 250 natural meaningful APM so i can actually do this spread micro if i concentrate enough but its hard for most people i guess if 12 minutes comes and theres no emp timing i am more liberal with my spreading out because at that point i can usually have map awareness to see where the ghosts are this does not mean every game i build a counter to the ghost push. no i play standard and usually expect cloaked banshees or a massive MMM stim timing, however emp timings can be countered you must have pre-spread units and good spread-micro to do it however

I cant remember if there is precedence for that. They have a button in the booth to request a pause, if you read the rules they must use this button and not "pp". (the button is necessary in case of a keyboard failure) I think it's one of the players who requested a pause, an observer wouldn't dare to do it (unless it's the obs who has a mouse failure and can't obs anymore ?)

Oh good points. We have seen players use pp though (DRG). That pause was hyper short though, and when the camera viewed the players, neither player seemed to be having issues. Mouse issue on the observer then? Hmm cant remember specifically what was being looked at during the stream.

I do not understand how people can judge whether or not someone has a high level of knowledge. Unless you are a pro or are one of the best players, how do you know whether or not they're saying is right of if they're missing something? Basically it all comes down to what the caster/commentators can present, and whether it convinces you or not. Ok, so let's say this commentator is like Day9 and although he can't play at the pro level, he understands the game very well. Then again, it all comes down to how well they can convince you. Furthermore, commentators are limited to what they can say because it has to relate to what's going on in the game, or are held back by their ability to explain something at a given time. Once again, it comes down to commentating ability and their ability to express what they feel.

I don't know what to make of FD Ace game 3 so I don't think I'm even going to go there.

You can tell when someone doesn't have a high level of sc2 knowledge when they are WRONG, regardless of how convincing they are.

That on top of finals and papers, and I'll never get out of this black hole of depression. Oh well. FD still played way better than I expected he would play today, which is enough for me. (... no, not really, but I have to console myself somehow.)

Ace played pretty damn well and took advantage of FD's blunder in the last game. Whatever the hell that blunder was. I just remember FD absolutely dominating and then all of a sudden he somehow transitioned into losing his entire base. I can just imagine how frustrated he must be after that game, though. I hope he doesn't beat himself up over it and go into a slump, because he played extraordinarily well for the most part. It was kind of like watching FD from GSL1 again, especially in that Game 1.
