its like, some kind of evil european organisation is inviting all the players off to something else at the same time :O

You can not be serious...
Well maybe if they had decent price money, the top players would care more... Oh Wait .

The Nada games were awesome, well worth the money. Considering SC2 tournaments on this scale are still fairly new, I'd think the community would have a bit more patience, but I was wrong, which is disgusting considering 99% of people are watching a free stream. It actually makes me really sad to see the way people react to problems which are largely out of the control of the NASL, like player scheduling issues. I'm not a big complainer, but this post prompted my reaction. Just FYI, I've paid 25 bucks for the VODs, and I'm one of those people who are willing to give the NASL a chance and I'm actually HOPING that it will succeed. However, I think that the biggest issue is not just about scheduling issues. It's about how screwed up the NASL has been since Day 1 (being the first day it was announced), when compared to leagues like GSL and TSL.
They've been plagued with controversy since they first arrived on the scene and while they've made many corrections to their mistakes, they are just making far too many for people not to be disappointed.
Speaking of which, it's beyond me how they couldn't foresee scheduling issues to be a problem especially given the multiple regions involved in the games and the many different LANs within the 3 months of tournament (it's ironic considering they were so quick to "foresee" that Demuslim might have trouble playing due to his injury, but couldn't foresee these). There are alternatives for NASL with regards to scheduling, (ie casting from replays, postponing games till another day - if players have valid reasons, not broadcasting some games). The fact that a game is pretty much cancelled just because NASL have a fixed broadcasting schedule is a little bit disappointing. It again goes back to planning, they should have foreseen these events and made contingencies for such a scenario where it is beyond their or the players control.
As for broadcasting issues. As many people have already mentioned, comparing the NASL which charges for content, and TSL which is pretty much free, the broadcasts have been absolutely poor. Yeah you can probably blame the poor production value and terrible commentary on inexperience, but I simply cannot accept the fact that I paid $25 and I'm getting choppy VODs, terrible sound quality and difficulty watching matches because of the high gamma settings on the graphics. Not only that, some of the VODs from a couple of days ago seem to be missing or are difficult to find. This is honestly unacceptable. TSL gets theirs up within 10-12 hours of the matches, and cut and edited perfectly. GOM gets theirs up within 8 hours, but usually less. Yeah, sure the recordings are on the justin.tv archives, but sifting through the video to look for a match and finding missing games (Catz v Goody game 1 seems to be missing today), is just not what you expect for having to pay $25. And for a league that is trying to pride itself on being the next best thing to the GSL.
I can go on about the mistakes the NASL are making, but I honestly hope that there won't make anymore and start rectifying the mistakes they've made. I think one of the problem they had is that when planning the league, they didn't seem to make much of a community interaction (that player voting thing was a terrible idea of community interaction). Announcements seemed to zip by the community (eg: the fact that the league was delayed 1 week without much of a big announcement + the news of the map pool was only posted on wellplayed.org before finally making its way to a new TL thread a day or so later + no one knowing about the use of old Tal'darim Altar till they played on it).
And this is just a personal opinion, but I really felt the official NASL thread on TL was terribly formatted making it lose so much of its professionalism. Thinking about all the errors they've been making just frustrates and disappoints me. But I'm not going to harp on it. I just felt this needed to be said.
Anyway, with the GSL coming up, I don't think I'll be watching the NASL much. But I'll keep my HD pass and hope to see improvements in the tournament.
TL;DR: While they've been making efforts to improve, the NASL have been making too many mistakes to be considered professional and be worth the $25 that some people have paid for it. They have the potential to be better, but they need to take active steps to plan better and interact with the community better.

I do think people are judging this way to quick - this is the group stages. Regarding scheduling problems, why aren't people giving NASL more of a priority in their own schedules? The prize pool is enourmous.

The prize pool is enourmous. 50k over 3 months, some of these other tourneys are 5/10k a weekend/day. These are also just the group games and theirs 9 more chances to perform.

i agree as well

Whitera and MC both missed their games because of dreamhack...white ra couldn't ply cause he was stil at the venue and MC's plane was delayed. Jinro even posted about the plane being delayed. Seriously wtf can we start banning stupid comments like this?

Maybe the NASL should just cut their losses, pack up and give up on the league. It sure seems that's what everyone wants.
This community has got to be the worst of any other gaming community and is only gonna shoot themselves in the foot. Everyone says hey want e-sports to thrive in NA yet it never will because most of you will never give it a chance. This community is gonna be the death of north american e-sports (for SC2anyways) not some league that has a few minor issues that will be resolved no doubt.
I pray you will all get what you ask for and end up watching small shit no name tourneys with a $200.00 prize pool, with a few larger ones sprinkled in on the weekend which is taped from some dudes webcam
It's been fun TL.net but I can't stand to come here no more, even most of your team members don't even want to come to this site because of all the garbage that is posted here

That conspiracy is called Dreamhack Invitational. White-Ra and MC was playing in the finals while NaNiwa was in attendance. White-Ra couldn't play since he makes the finals, MC got stuck in the airport on the return trip, and NaNiwa came home too late from the event.

Wooop. Can't wait to watch Restream :D. Sounds like there were some good games from Recommended section .

Well Diggity and Khaldor are very experienced casters. Honestly they need to hire Diggity or something.
