Seriously.

MC took a calculated risk that had a very low chance of failure. Watch WhiteRa's games. He has specific habits that MC took advantage of. It was, frankly, an excellent tactical choice by a player who understands that the point of SC2 is to win. I wish WhiteRa had won, but he was out played.

As far as I'm concerned, the biggest difference between Korean players and "Foreigners" is that Korean pros don't treat SC2 like its a game. The silliness with Idra and then MC confirms this.

Until we see a non-Korean pro with a truly professional mindset, Korean progamers will continue to dominate the international SC2 scene.

As for people who question MC's macro, I watched his mineral/gas count in the game against IdrA and on 4 base with 1 being the gold, the highest his money gets is around 1000 when he's maxed, and before then it never went up past 600-700, usually before warpins.

The Aftonbladet stream pulled 20-30k viewers during the event, the dreamhack stream 40-50k. So it peaked at 80k viewers during the finals. That gotta be a record?

I think the gom stream is regularly getting between 70 and 90k viewers.

Jeez guys. Does MC not get any credit for pulling an amazing comeback from a 0-2 deficit? He saw what he had to do and he did it. It's not like he'll just give up an amazingly simple opportunity to win just because a bunch of people might not enjoy watching a 2-gate proxy. As much as many of you might bemoan the fact that the ace match wasn't some long, entertaining and epic struggle of a macro game, it's not like it was a one time thing. There will still be more tournaments to come and more chances to be entertained. Trust me.

MC did entertain, did you not see the first 2 games? He could of 4 gated his way to another 3-0. To come back from 2-0 down take a lot of skill and balls. Do you think Whitera could play his eco style in the first 2 games if MC did 4 gate? So haters he does entertain, he gives a sense of opportunity like you can actually beat him in PvP when actually it's not possible.

Out of the 6 possible MUs one relies on an overbearing style to compete successfully. Not too bad for blizzard since the rest of the MUs are pretty darn varied.

Are you seriously implying that with $15,000 on the line MC deliberately placed himself a razor's edge away from losing simply for the entertainment of the crowd?

Ridiculous.

Idk, whenever TLO does silly stuff that winds up costing him games, people are always saying he's playing to entertain.

This load of BS is so disrespectful to the professional integrity and competence of both MC and white-ra. Typical teenager crapinion...

Again..whenever TLO loses doing something funky, people are always saying it was because he was trying to entertain. Sometimes people just want to mix things up whether it's for mind games or to please fans. If MC had actually fourgated EVERY game, I personally would have been a bit surprised if White Ra managed to make it 3-1.

SC2 is so boring to watch, but it's not only because of the game itself, but also the players that cheese in game 5 of a BO5

Why not? I thought the vast majority of those who watched the stream were non-Korean/English speaking viewers.

Best organization ever..
Forget GSL, skip MSL (what a disaster on stream), totally dont care about NASL because of commentators sticking to nexus for 1 minute chatting over weather not showing production tab and no vods ofc for 25 $..

DREAMHACK FTW! We want every tourney around the world to be organized by DREAMHACK!!

and i must admit that i love your caster-.-

I can't believe how motherfucking epic this tournament was. James 2gd harding is the best damn host in e-sports, the casters were so good and knowledgeable, the content itself was amazing. All in all I give this tournament a solid 10/10 with 0 complaints. E-sports has a very promising future if up and coming tournaments can run as smoothly as Dreamhack's Invitational.

Thanks OP for putting all the spoilers right there when I opened the post. Now I know what the finals are before I even watched a game. Why even bother with spoiler tags in the rest of the post?

I don't care what anyone says.

MC did a bullshit move at the end, he was afraid of fighting White-Ra and resorted to cheese instead of doing a controllable game.
Pure bullshit.

Dreamhack did great, they even changed computers inbetween every fight just so the players didn't have to setup their own settings.
That girl reporter is great because well I know her and she really cares about the community, she tried asking some user questions from Team Liquid aswell

fine just don't spout retarded shit like "afraid to fight" for no reason. if u never scout and go 13 gate basically every game u're bound to be punished for it, another example is sjow at assembly etcetc.

He had full control of the game. White-Ra went 13 gate and skipped zealot in all the other 4 games. It was an excellent read by MC and safer than pretty much any other tactic considering white-ra's opening.
