1. This series is just going to perpetuate the MC stereotype of him only winning through early pushes and being "unable" to play a macro game, thus giving the haters more ammunition (even though if he actually tries to play safe with a macro game he still does well) 2. MC really had no reason to try to cheese MKP so much when he's perfectly capable of playing a macro game and Toss is very strong lategame anyway 3. MC didn't play to his strengths of utilizing amazing FF placement. At all. I hardly saw any sentries throughout that series. 4. This has nothing to do with MC's play specifically, but this entire series in general is pretty much defined by 1 person trying really hard 1base pushes and the other person fast-expanding (or in the first game's case, MKP trying an eco-cheese while MC FE'd) making for pretty short games. | ||

The interesting thing is MC's 1base pushes would have killed mostly any other Terran, but I feel like MKP simply had enough to hold them off with pure marine numbers even after fast expanding. Most terrans try to tech after a FE, but MKP wasted no time in just throwing up a ton of rax and thus had enough marines to hold off the Protoss 1base shenanigans. | ||

In regards to the games tonight, I'm surprised we didn't see any of MC's typical 6-Gate Sentry play. He's so absurdly strong with it, it's a wonder he opted to not even try it once. | ||

On Xel'Naga MKP did a 1-base Banshee + Siege Tank push against 3(?) Gate expand and just rolled over it. The other two games he won MC did some offensive stuff that didn't work out at all. On Crevasse it was a proxy stargate + 4gate like the game Jinro lost on the same map, and on Terminus MC did 3-gate pressure against MKP's FE but did zero damage, then MKP countered with 6-rax pressure while MC went for Nexus AND Colossi and had little to defend and got further behind, then just lost. | ||
