Its what they signed up with on the MLG site. HuK (before TL etc) signed up as GosuHuK

Machine is a Machine, I really thought Nony won game 1 when he pushed and blocked the ramp, but he just got steamrolled :/

Same it would be nice for someone like him to have a breakthrough in this tournament. On the other hand, I want HuK to win it and shut the naysayers up

Stream works without octoshape though. Trick is you have to disable/uninstall the plugin. If it's installed and enabled, the stream will use it.

4 players need to win a single best of 3 more and they are top 6.
At the end of the first day it's already about 90% likely the 3-0 players, SeleCT, etc will top 6. ' Incontrol is 2-1, with 2 short all in games against TLO, and now has to get a single bo3 win and he's top 6.
It seems a little weird how beneficial being seeded is :/ not that they arent great players but it's gonna be weird if a MC, MVP, nestea shows up to think they won't really be favored to win.
Players are rewarded for previous success. If they don't perform well, then they fall out of the top 16 and have to earn their spots in future events. I think it's a great system that helps ensure that players don't get knocked out earlier than they should, while still having them play enough games to prove that they belong in top 16.
Example: Gretorp does not belong in the top 16. He's 0-3, and likely will be 0-4 in a few hours. Next MLG he'll have to earn his spot in the Championship Bracket.
edit: I think the proper way to look at MLG is that Friday and Saturdays games are the preliminay games, similar to all of the TSL qualifiers. Sunday is the real tournament. The 16 seeded players are the "invites" and the Winner and Losers bracket guys are the "qualifiers".

It's makes a mockery out of actual competition. You know 16 of the Top 24 before the event even starts. There's nothing competitive about that. They had about 200 people show up for the Open Tournament out of 256. I wouldn't be surprised if that number continues to decrease when people realize the huge disadvantage that they've been given. Only people that will end up participating are players on teams that need to compete to show results. The rest won't even bother.
This isn't a tournament anymore, it's a quasi-invitational.
