Anyone who thinks Korea's 8 were all of its best players are fooling themselves. I'm pretty sure players like MMA, LosirA, or Alicia would be better suited than some of the players on the Korean team. NaDa looked pretty out of practice and MKP seems to be slumping hard. Don't even know why anyPro was there, and Alicia is better than San according to MC.

Again it based on GSL point rankings all the way up to the previous GSL season. The players earned their spot based on how far they advanced. If you have a gripe then its probably with the structure of the system, but don't blame the players.

Unfortunately the point system did not include the first 3 Open seasons; so some of the more consistently performing players did not make the team (RainBOw would have replaced San on points if all seasons were included, I believe Tester would have been in as well)

Tester was in the contention but didn't played well enough to advance from last season and Rainbow has been lackluster after the open season. There could be some merit to replace some players on the team but nothing you can do about the system. Heck I'd even argue that the team selection for the World Championship was somewhat disappointing and we didn't get some of the best players ourselves due to mainly MLG Dallas conflict.

Ryung and Min should replace San and July. I don't want to judge based on results, but off of playing ability from games. While I love July, he hasn't been impressive at all, and San is solid but not spectacularly good.

Ryung's TvT and TvP are both extremely solid, and Min is just a macro monster with a good head for strategy. Both just qualified for Code A, btw. I don't think half of the guys on this list could do that (although, a good amount of luck is involved due to the inherent volatility of the game). :D

July gets on people's heads, he is an agressivee yet very unpredictable player that produces results, he is definetely top 4 in Korea when it comes to televized matches.

San and Alicia are overrated. Bomber and Nada instead then yeah, agree.

Agreed! I really dont think that san is one of the best koreans. Really not sure about Alicia.. hes better than san but not sure does he deserve place in Korean team.

Don't understand why MKP isnt on that list when MVP is. They are both insane players slumping.

MKP is still very talented and easily top5 in the world when he's in form.

Anyway you will see tomorrow!

Oh come on, stop drinking the Kool-Aid. You want to crown Min as a top 8 player after just 2 televised games? Ryung after 7? Really? Over people like HongUn and Rainbow who have appeared in every single GSL?

The thing is that MKP has looked off form ever since he lost to MVP IMO. Knocked to Up/Downs, gets totally schooled by Rainbow in the GSTL, and also got schooled by Alive in the first GSTL. Then he goes and looks terrible against Sen. At least MVP showed very strong matches in the recent GSTL.

And MVP is in code A.

It's not like the World team was the strongest team either, I don't get the constant Korean-love whining. It seems like we have been brainwashed by Artosis/IdrA etc saying how amazing Koreans are on a daily basis.
Lee Jae Dong proved that a focus on mechanics and execution could solve problems in the StarCraft game strategy.

)))))))))))))))))))))))))))

yea, July has only beaten 4 players in this tournament, not impressive at all, he should go away.

And yea, it's seriously ridiculous to listen all this korea fanboys from people who came into sc with sc2. In BW it was completely different situation, koreans were monsters and no one could touch them. Now they are just in the top with other top gamers from around the world. Only difference is in their eyes.

Amazing games, will go down in history!

That's a representation of what I would like to see in this community, but people get too carried away with this koreans vs foreigners shit... I don't think players on either side actually care all that much about that... sigh

The showmatch was called "Korea vs. the World"....

So what? Does that make it okay to player bashing now? Just take a look in this thread if you don't know what I'm talking about...

MKP's unit control is slightly better, but MVP is superior in every other aspect IMO.

He 2-0'd Leenock when it mattered and stays in Code S, MVP would've gotten 4-0'd in up and down if it wasn't for a lucky second game vs Alicia.

I agree mvp had some decent games in GTSL though.

One 2-0 against Leenock was pretty much the only thing I saw out of MKP. MVP lost to some really good Protoss players, and he made up for it pretty well in the GSTL showing that he can play a very strong game against Tester and almost bringing it all back for IM against SlayerS.

wait, what? Did you watch the matches today? July is great and perhaps most important, getting better every day.

People have been saying the same thing ever since he started winning. Not sure how July can prove his doubters wrong really.

When you have i think 3+ world players not showing up for preliminaries and let players have a walk on, what do you expect?

Edit: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2011_GSL_World_Championship/Preliminaries

Link to show that the "world" players didn't care getting the strongest team to play in korea by not showing up.

Definitely 2nd best country in sc2 after korea!

Really well played by sen tt1 and dimaga, all of them could easily be code s.

I'd be so bold to say that Sweden would jump in as second.

I'd be to bold to say that it doesn't make any sense to argue if one country is better than the other...

Obviously korea has the biggest scene right now, and US has the second biggest by quite a bit.

If you wanna argue what country has the better players at least set some kind of definition. You mean a best top4? top8? top1? :s
