Go ahead and misquote someone on the lag from Korea, and then hope the actual player doesn't respond (like Jinro did mentioning his views on the Korea latency). Sorry about that everyone, I am just so tired of complaints on latency here. The games today were excellent, and I loved the casting duo of Wheat and Day9! I'm inclined to agree with this. I would perhaps be more open to the idea of lag interrupting a player's ability to succeed if sources were proven and critics unanimous (outside of the oGs house, at any rate).
That's true. Though I am inclined to believe otherwise, there has'nt really been any proper confirmation of the latency issue.

3 Swedes, 3 Americans, 3 Germans, 3 Koreans, already 12 of 16 ^^ Don't these 4 countries always fair well at WCG as far as points from across all games? It is quite interesting.

Well if a Thread from Jinro is not proper as a confirmation of the "no issue" I don't know what is proper on this holy TL ground -.-

That's the most boring playstyle of the universe. Damn what have I done to see Zeerax and not cruncher advancing through, he seems more interesting. So if he plays a macro game it's boring and when he does a 2base-push it"s boring? What do you expect him to do? Play another race? People on this site are amazing at finding stuff to complain about. I found Idra to be much more bad mannered towards Cruncher than the other way around. He was also flaming Cloud at the FXOpen after he got destroyed 2:0. So yeah, I was really pleased to see him get knocked out today.
So I heard being outbased 7:3 is a "macro" game

Totally agree. We saw Cruncher play some excellent games today. And I started cracking up when he posted that smiley face. Hilarious. I don't understand why everyone on this thread is hating on him. He outplayed Idra in 2 of 3 games, and that's all there is to it.

The oGs team has a better and stable internet connection that wasn't affected too badly by the Japanese earthquake. This is why they were able to do so well in the FXOpen invitational compared to the Prime team. A lot of people seems the be saying this, and the only basis for it seems to be that Zenio and Supernova did well in FXO tournament... But Jinro himself said that it was non sense and that all connections had the same lag. I suppose it would vary from time to time and some players just got lucky when they played their matches.
I find it hard to believe one korean team should have a better connection than another team to the US. Especially when someone who has played in one of the houses for months says that isn't the case, and when none of the people who claim there is a difference doesn't have any source.
It's much more likely the oGs players actually bothered practising on NA server and got a feel for the lag. Supposedly, just getting used to playing with lag can go a long way in negating the negative effects of it. Again, I'm not speaking of personal experience, but I'll take Liquid`Tyler's word for it.

Ah my bad, just couldn't help make my point about it since all of yesterday was complaining. I really have enjoyed the TSL so far and it's just a lot more fun and satisfying watching these games. Hats off to TL for running, producing and providing such a quality entertaining tournament :D

Well considering the amount of discussion and flaming going on about this matter, you would think there would be more. For example some word from the Korean camp, or from TL staff. Atleast to lay all this back and forth to rest. Anyway, no point in arguing about this more on the basis of speculation, though I still believe lag was a problem.

Sure Idra had 7 bases taken, but how useful were they? There is a point where you have too many, and he hit that at like base 5 considering the circumstances.

This 7 base talk...
How many of them did he actually use? 4?
Just because he builds a hatchery at 7 spots doesnt mean he is on 7 bases, if he does nothing with them.

I say get Jinro or Artosis to film someone like MC playing for his match. So we can see what he sees.
Unless filming someone play is not allowed >:-(
I'd like to see him play from an outside view anyway.
