[NASL] Players (final) - Page 98
Forum Index > StarCraft 2 Tournaments |
Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't.

They are both in because the fans wanted them and this is a business. the bottom 16 have to requalify, if Grubby, or any other "Bad, undeserving" players are as "bad" as people are stating, they won't requalify. I think their main gripe is that more skilled and accomplished players (specifically koreans) have been (or looks like) overlooked for guys like Grubby, vibe...etc

If you're so set on deciding how this thing should be run, go out and find some angel investors and start your own league. It shouldn't be hard for you, seeing as you're already an expert! Listen right here; I want ESPORTS in the west to grow, I will be supporting the NASL and I will be spending money on getting whatever paid services that they will be offering. Because quite frankly if this falls face first it's going to set things back and I do not want that. However if you look at the way things are being ran and the demonstrations that they are constantly putting out and not question yourself or the production of the league then I really don't know what to tell you. Let's just say that if I was an investor with money sunk into this project and saw the production value of the TSL3 and then the Clash of the Titans I'd probably want to withdraw my support or just distance myself from the decision. People get up in arms about the voting process, saying they don't want the league to be a popularity contest and that they want good games to come from it, this leads the league to respond saying that the player selection process will be "On Results and a bunch of mystery voodoo stuff while the voting plays a small part" Choices like Grubby/Axslav/Artosis/PainUser just make you scratch your head. Now, don't get all nerdy and sperg out on me and start getting upset that I'm insulting your favorite players. I know Grubby from his War3 days and Artosis is by far one of the best commentators in the sport, but what have either of the two done to get an invite? Other than be on EG or friends with the tournament organizers. "We are really proud of our website" was said on a state of the game, and when it was released the community hated it and now the websites "real" release will be out in April. Heres the announcement of the announcement with a show match to create excitement for the announcement turns into "The Clash was a stand-alone event that is not connected to the NASL" The organizers backpedal faster than <insert extremist of your choice> being called on <subject of your choice> It's troubling, there are huge red flags being thrown in the air and Incontrol and the NASL staff have posted numerous times that they want the "community" to be involved. Well, here we are, trying to be involved in the best way we know how (by QQ and sperging out on forums) Like I said, I'm going to be sending money their way anyway, I will probably watch and pray that the production value at least matches the reddit open or the TSL, but I want esports to boom and I'm not going to sit around being hopeful and blind to the obvious horrible decisions going on.

Seeing that the goal is to attract as many people as possible, inviting Grubby was just logical. It's a completely different story for nonames like ViBE though.

This is not GSL v2.0. If the KR players are so much better than all the NASL invites, they will surely take the 16 spots in season 2 that are qualifier based. Before you call a player "bad" or "undeserving" watch the league? If they are so undeserving they will be in that bottom 16 and won't be back next year. NASL also wants to create storylines, players you can relate to, big personalities. They have already created underdog stories for players like ViBe, MoMan, stalife, Grubby, and others that have been shit on by people. Many of these players will surprise you.

I'm pretty sure I'm not friends with MoMaN, nor am I friends with any of the Koreans , nor am I friends with most of the players in the league. I can assure you that nobody was picked because they were "friends" of anyone who made the decisions.

There might be some names that make you kind of scratch your head, but I wouldn't call them bad. Even then, it's only what, a handful that some of you are bitching about, out of 50. That and I think the Liquibets for a lot of the TSL games have shown that players perceived by fans to be "bad" or worse than another player isn't always the case ![]()

Are you implying ViBE has a following that would justify his invitation into NASL? I highly question this. I'm not denying people already heard of him, but what matters is the ability to excite people. Seeing Grubby play will excite approximately 2000 times as many people as seeing ViBE play. No, that's not an exaggeration, but an actual number.

Seems that way, and I like how theres this huge post and you just isolate one part of it, I'm hoping that on Tuesday when ~+*All things get revealed*+~ that it's explained in a good enough way to warrant some of the choices. Also I have no problem with MoMaN and was actually hoping he would get it due to his application video, so good job at that I guess.
