Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |

Morrow, Thorzain, Nightend, Ret, Minigun... Just some players that absolutely deserve a spot.

LOVE YOU NASL

No ret, no Minigun, no DeMuslim, no Morrow, no Thorzain?? These are waaaay too good to leave out for some Koreans you can watch every day in the GSL anyway.
FUCK YOU NASL!

I reallllly want Gretorp in NASL, he totally deserves it - especially with the way he's been playing lately

Out of all 40, people are complaining about...4 or 5? Good work Xeris I think every player invited will prove they belong.

Jesus christ, so much hate in this thread.

But in my opinion you are leaving some good eu/na players out for some worse na/eu players. Thats what I dont get.

Lol at some of the names in there, bad NA players just to keep the majority from NA or what?
We all know where the best SC is played ... don't get me wrong I don't want this to be Korean filled, but comeon some of the names in there ...

edit: posted in wrong thread accidentialy Somebody please deleat this, thank you ♥

Who's "BAD" you may think some players are more deserving, but none of the players invited are "BAD"

Nonames ftw! We hate koreans!!! rahhhh :D <3
It's not about that, it's about the popularity contest and seemingly biased selection process based on who you know that has clearly privileged a select few in a certain "clique" at the expense of other arguably more deserving players.

:p
I'm sure there will still be opportunities for criticism after they've unveiled the full list and their explanation for the picks.

And you're the PR for the whole thing? O_o
You guys really need to get some more professionalism, sarcasm looks so so bad when it comes from any sort of 'official'. I only wish the best for NASL but seriously, the whole thing feels very amateur on lots of levels, which is quite off-putting.

What, how is going to lans related to being in the tournament, empire Kas for example is Easily one of the best players in europe but afaik has not gone to any big lans yet.(He did not apply to NASL though as far as I know but thats besides the point.)

Bad? Seriously, that word is overused by some of the people that post on here. There might be some names that make you kind of scratch your head, but I wouldn't call them bad. Even then, it's only what, a handful that some of you are bitching about, out of 50.
Like I said, I hope these players that are so called "bad" do well just see what the haters will use as an excuse then.

We will explain everything on Tuesday

5 Koreans per league rule is revoked so you can bet your ass off there will be more than 5 in the league. Otherwise revoking that rule would be pointless. Leaving almost all Koreans to be revealed at the last 2 rounds is not really optimal strategy from hype point of view :D.
If you announce 5 Koreans amongst the first 25 players and then go dry from 30-45. You could mess around with lots of people into believing only 5 will be in the league. But do include some of the obvious top Korean invites in the first 5 otherwise people will know there's more to come. Last round you get all 5 (for a total of 10) Koreans and you get a better hype imo .

I didn't doubt for a moment that incontol would invite himself in ever since the format of NASL was announced. 5 EG players and 4 Root so far and it would've been 5 for Root as well if qxc didn't just switch to FXO. That 5th Root player is probably on the way.
Grubby has not shown anything significant in Starcraft 2 unless you consider a few neat ladder replays significant. He was an incredible WC3 player, but you don't invite a world class badminton player to Wimbledon. Moon and Ace are struggling to make Code A in GSL and the only reason there were at IEM is because they immediately got knocked out of Code A that season and not because they were especially more eager to participate in tournaments outside of Korea. If you're going to restrict the number of Korean invitees, these two guys are far down in the list of deserving Koreans.
I'm sorry that I sound so cynical, but I just feel that NASL is taking the "showmatch" approach away from a skill-based tournament and I don't like it at all. They' say that they want stories, but it seems that they want it so bad that they want to force specific "stories" rather than letting new stories happen. Yes, you can tell me to just go watch GSL, and that is probably what I'll end up doing, but I was initially quite excited about such a large-scale tournament in NA as I'm an American and would've loved to follow NASL and actually attend the offline events for the final 16.
