[NASL] Players (final) - Page 135
Forum Index > StarCraft 2 Tournaments |
Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't.

The player lineup looks good. And i think they are inviting koreans that know how important this league could be for them. A MC knows how popular he is outside of korea and how popular he could become. Some of the korean pros dont even care enough to prepare for a huge event like TSL. So why should they be invited. I was a huge fan of nestea and mvp, but after their display of ignorance at TSL i will root for players that actually care about more than just their little world and think they can do the rest halfassed. just my 2 cents

I am really curious about the explanations for the invites. But I think they will be all wishy-washy like "incontrol is popular" - is he?

By losing? Now, I'm not too sure about the latency issue, so I won't comment on that, but they had little to no information on their opponents. Goody is a very good mech Terran and Adelscott played pretty damn well. I'm sure Nestea wasn't used to Goody's style, and he had no one to practice against since complete mech Terrans are very rare. TvP is MVP's worst match up, and although PvT is Adelscott's worst match up, he played really well that day which shows that he was able to really study MVP's style and prepare builds that were tailored against him. It's easy to get VODs and replays of MVP and Nestea, but not as easy to get VODS and replays of Goody and Adelscott. By saying that Nestea and MVP were being ignorant, you're just downplaying their opponents skill.

I read that so often, but it seems to be nonsense to me. Goody plays basically every day in online tournaments which provide replays for download. NesTea could have downloaded literally hundreds of Goody replays without any effort. I bet he has watched at least some, anything else would have been very strange. At the same time Goody could not get replays from NesTea, just a few VODs. Same is true for most other foreigner vs Korean matches.

By saying that Nestea and MVP were being ignorant, you're just downplaying their opponents skill. Being absolutely serious here: are sites like sc2rep.com banned in Korea? If that is not the case, how would it be ANY hard to get replays of Goode&Adel? Check out the pre game interviews, MVP said he was about to tailor some builds against Adel, but from what I have seen, he played pretty standardly in those games. NesTea said he was worried because Goody's style might alter from Korean Terrans, but that he was still confident to win. I am not completely sure if I am mistaken here, but I think, with equal preperation, both MVP and NesTea should have rolled over their opponents, regardless of lag (which, according to Jinro, is not as bad as some people are trying to make it look like here.)

I'm afraid that's pointless. The spots are already reserved for such awesome players like Dde, Vibe, Axlav, Incontrol aka Dimaga's app was too late [/sarcasm]

Well I don't know and I didn't say that I agree with they decisions. It's stupid not having people like Demuslim, Morrow, Thorzain, Nightend in the league. People who really deserve their spots over people like Vibe or DDE.

But no, we get an awesome Starleague in NA, and now all of you want to whine about who is in it. Some want it to be GSL West, some want it to be only foreigners, and yet many more complain that their favorite player was not invited. They ask, "Why can't my favorite, who didn't even apply (on time) get in? He's SO GOOD." When told that the rules are being stood by instead of changed on the community's (often bandwagon-minded) opinion, they scream and shout, "BUT THAT'S NOT FAIR, HE IS TOO GOOD TO BE LEFT OUT OF THE NASL!!!!1111" They forget about the Open Tournament. They forget that there are more chances than these initial 50 invites to be in the NASL. Let your favorite PROVE he's that good by getting into the NASL by his hard work and dedication through a long tournament, instead of by the invites you already ridicule as being marred by favoritism and injustice. Oh champions of these snubbed players, let not your immediate disgust ruin your perspective on the West's great chance at a lasting Starleague! We must prevail... AS ONE.
