Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |

Man struggling to get top16 when you are a professional gamer sure is impressive. Oh wait, its not! Thres 20ish other NA players so top 16 should be there

For sake of iNcontroL, July better be one of last remaining 5, and he better be in Division 2.

there also aren't koreans in the MLG....

People are taking this invitation system way to seriously.
Remember this is just for 1 season. The players that aren't up to snuff will be eliminated.

Thought it was about 1. results 2. results 3. results? incontrol doesnt have any. guess he added himself in Maybe I interpreted this differently than other people did but I looked at this as them saying roughly 4 out of every 5 would be selected on results, and then there would be 20% that got there largely by popularity. Say what you want about the overall process, but looking at the players invited so far I don't know how you can argue they haven't delivered on that promise. 4 out of 5 players based on results, 1 of 5 based on popularity.
You have a large majority of very qualified players that have strong tournament results (you can rank them however you like based on achievements, but most have strong results).
Then you have the small minority of players who probably are there on popularity. Say what you want about their process but I don't see how you can say they aren't following that guideline (if you go by this interpretation)
But from reading this thread it appears that everyone is under some warped understanding that NASL staff is picking each individual player on a basis of results as being 99% of the equation and popularity being 1% where clearly for some players with nearly no high finishes in tournaments they were selected entirely on popularity.

By your logic every tournament that doesn't have koreans in it is worthless. Koreans are good, but they aren't the end all be all of starcraft 2. MLG is extremely competative and a perfectly good meterstick for results.

No that is not what he means, grats putting words in his mouth though. Obviously since there werent koreans in MLG when incontrol competed diminishes the value of this "accomplishment" of barely coming top16 since it was a lot less competitive than it could have been - NASL will have koreans and some of the greatest players from all over the world making it even harder. Glad I could help.

Only because someone dropped out. ^^

To the owners of NASL:
If Boxer, Nada, MC, and JulyZerg are not part of the last 5, I will not support NASL.
I surely hope you are saving the best for last.
|
Then don't watch, we don't need to hear about it.

Who cares? I wish I could see more of Nada, but if it's not happening, its a-okay considering how many good players there are so far. root fiiiightiiiiing! I hope minigun gets it!

lol. This is the most ridiculous thread ever.
I like pretty much all the chosen players so far. Keep up the good work NASL! Can't wait for this to start. :D
|
Who cares?
Obviously a lot of people do, that has been shown in this thread. :o

This will not happen due to sheer logistics. You will definitely get at least one of those, maybe two. I believe there is also still a spot for Morrow.

This league had high hopes, but its turned into a joke. I will continue to support the GSL and GOM.
Sort of pissed that both leagues are inviting people who had been involved in cheating from back in BW days.
|
There is still missing some good players... but not all can be invited, and it's only the first season
|
Are some tip top players not in the NASL because they did not submit applications (don't want to play in lag or want to focus on gsl etc) or because GSL results don't count as "results results results?"
There's a decent amount of people who have good GSL results and have submitted application videos that are not on the list. Just wondering about that. I would assume if you made a video you would also submit an application. Thanks all!
