Infact i think BoxeR DCing (or whoever it was who dced) was a good thing to happen as it shows people who are bashing the "omg replays fuck this" that it has many advantages not just getting rid of cheaters. Had this been live and Boxer DC'ed it would have been a massive disaster because then the games might have been postponed or the wrong decision might have been made. Instead you got a pretty meaty topic about it, with plenty of evidence and arguments for doing it and the tournament resumed shortly.

Does anyone have the counterpart to this picture? ![]() The one with Thorzain, Fenix, Nightend and Strelok Would love to make a TSL3 wallpaper collection with all the players. :D

Artosis would never cast Vulnerability to delays and early disconnects, eventually running out of time and stressing the players of the following matches. Casters also get tired. Artosis has to get up at 3am regardless because its casted live whether the game is replay or not

He played badly and Thorzain out played him, just because a korean loses to a relatively unknown foreigner the main talking point is lag for the Korean players. I dunno what' sup with him, isn't he playing anymore? Lol trust me when I say, latency effects your gameplay as a whole, completely makes you play like trash all game, and makes you want to end the game asap due to the lag. And if the rumors are true about the lag being much worse due to the quakes, it would have been much much worse

That aside though, I cannot imagine anyone watching the stream and constantly thinking about the fact that it's a replay. Once it's started and the casters have really gotten into it it makes no difference to me. It has also been discussed to death internally and live is not an option, period Edit: I can understand people who don't want to watch matches of which they already know the result (and I know people who usually don't watch VODs for that reason, either live or not at all), but this is different imho. No one except the players and a few people in the administration knows the result, so it's very much a live experience, everyone still sees it at the same time (so it's not like watching a recorded soccer match or whatever). Just look at IRC during the cast for example... Hoping for a player to make the right decision is a very different thought than hoping for a player to have made the right decision in the past. Rooting for one and emphasizing with him is almost impossible by the knowledge that the game is already over. Even though it's just an illusion, it gives a way different feeling of beeing connected to an event that is beeing played right now than one that's already written in stone. I'm pretty surprised how much TL seems to be all fine with it beeing just a replaycast. On German Readmore.de the discussions so far whenever the topic came up previously were clearly sided for "Replay broadcasts are inferior" (not unanimously yet clearly). Oh and don't mistake this for me demanding you to cast live. I know of the difficulties and abnormous work of coordination such an event can require, especially when it's about three timezones and delivering a smooth timetable. I do understand that you ultimately value the advantages of delivering a replay cast higher. All I want to say is that this does not come without a price imo and that this is why live events have an edge in spirit.

And I've seen him play GSLs, gisado's all star tourneys, and a lot more. He was really awful today. And yes.. I'm SO SAD ![]() ![]() ![]()

Not being able to "feel the players" is a small price to pay for the resulting bump in quality IMO.
