Just the right mix of good and bad play to make for completely crazy games. Boxer got way behind in economy early every match, but zenio couldn't find or make openings and had some bad decision making, so Boxer got to survive on his micro far longer than he would have against a better player. I don't expect either player to be in code S three seasons from now, but that was entertaining as hell to watch.

No, it looks that way because Zenio is zerg and made one mistake so he lost the game.

What a stupid comment. Do you even think or do you just cry everytime a zerg loses?

Giving up bases while you're far ahead and can easily counter attack/defend it. What a minor mistake, he definitely lost because he was Zerg.

God it's so boring getting to see these comments in EVERY SINGLE LR thread that has a Zerg playing. Just because you're zerg, doesn't mean you can't be outplayed. Not every single thing comes down to game balance.

Dunc - Sarcasm. Sarcasm - Dunc. I don't believe you've met. Ever. But, yeaaaaaaaa thanks for the advice. You've really opened up my eyes toward the game and exposed a new truth I never knew existed.

*this is for Dunc* - heyy that was "sarcasm". Just-so-you-don't-get-confused. bro!

Sad thing is i too thought your post was serious. The forums are just riddled with that kind of zerg deafeatism.

Sounds more like backpedaling rather than sarcasm.

Agreed. You don't just say stupid shit that mimics actual stupid shit that lots of people sincerely spew all the time, and then laugh at people that get mad at you because you were being "sarcastic". Doesn't work like that.

I really hope boxer can comeback to code-s soon. Maybe he shoud've just cooled down the aggression a bit and taken an expansion, and comeback strong.

I only know that Boxer doesn't actually have as much practice times as his team mates.

I just don't understand how you don't understand.

Maybe this is an entirely different game than the one he was greatest and smartest at?

Maybe he is getting older now and his reflexes and mechanics aren't as good as they were?

Maybe he doesn't practice as hard because of his age and other commitments?

Maybe, but you can still see his prowess - what he's always been good at, strategy, drops and micro, amongst the best, if not the best. It didn't pay off. It's a different game, a broke game, that does not reward a player of his calibre.

God damn... I'm sleep deprived (an hour and 30 minutes of sleep), I finally get out of bed and end up watching this last set go down, AND I have a final at 8 AM. This day sucks. GG from Boxer though. Would've been totally clutch and full on Emperor style if he had pulled through.

My stream lagged towards the end of the last Boxer v Zenio game (not sure, I think it has something to do with my connection suddenly crapping out). Luckily I was able to turn on the lower quality premium stream to catch it on delay.

Kinda sad that Boxer lost, but I really liked his fake proxy. Just that I kinda thought it was kind of stale after awhile. After all, it's only purpose was to psych Zenio out and by the third game I think Zenio had it figured out that Boxer would fake a proxy.

But really loved the fact that Boxer's a fighter man.

Are you seriously saying that SC2 is broken because Boxer lost?

the "mechanics" you are talking about is called macro.

You honestly gonna say his micro isn't up there with the best?

MKP has better marine splits tbh.

MKP has far worse decision-making/tactical nous than BoxeR. MKP's games sometimes resemble shoving square blocks into a round hole - only that his marine splits make it slightly likelier.

WTF? MKP is regarded as having one of the best decision making skills in SC2. He came back and beat Nada and Jinro in base trades, and took a hidden gold against Jinro. Dude is a total baller.

TBH I feel like most base trades involve a lot more luck than skill. It's all about being lucky enough to scout the right way. If a player is lucky enough, then suddenly crazy gamble decisions become great decisions, and if the player is unlucky enough to get something critical scouted, suddenly the crazy gamble decision becomes a terrible decision.

absolutely wrong. MKP has extremely good decision-making and tactics. HE was the one who popularized 2rax WHICH became a build which all terrans used for the whole month after. Also his builds seem 'abusive', but it's because he really understand the game and timings very well. And decision making... did you see how he won his base trades against Nada and Jinro? Esp against Nada where he had basically no chance of winning.

2rax has nothing to do with decision making or tactics though.

It maybe a bit off topic but considering Boxer's performance in Code S. It will be super interesting to see him in TSL in a couple of days. Can't wait.

Please, get off his nuts. I'm not saying he is a bad player or sucks shit. You said, and I quote,

"something must be broken with the game because he is one of the greatest and smartest starcraft players" - your logic is saying that he should automatically become code S because of his reputation and past history.

You can clearly see that he is not up-to-par with code S standards. His economy management is not the best (high OC energy, poor scv saturation). At points in time, you can see that he has FOUR siege tanks queued up in 1 factory and 4-5 rax queued up in 1 baracks, etc.

He is a good player but the better player won today and, therefore, he is in code A. There is nothing 'hard' to understand about it or 'broken' with the game.

The ones that are glad Boxer is in code A have no ideea what this really means , what Boxer means to the comunity , Boxer is a legend and will always be one of the most important figures of SC he made so many ppl even consider SC2 his influence is huge. OFC we want him to do as good as possible even if he is not the best because he is a legend.

Umm i think him going to code A is good.. it will liven up the code a games and he may be able to pull off some amazing micro comebacks similar to what he almost just pulled off against zenio... He will be able to work on his macro side of things while being competitive with his opponents, as opposed to getting smashed in first round of code S. Really you cannot deny ANY other zerg from code s woulda defeated him way earlier in each of those games.

Zenio plays amazing for the first 10 minutes of his games and then seems to slip with controlling units while macroing and then making bad decisions or not getting the right unit compositions. a few more banelings and/or upgrades and less mutas woulda won him those last 2 games with ease.

I think Boxer should become a full time coach. With his achievements and money, I can't see him being motivated enough to play 10-15 hours a day like the top GSL players. But he is a genius, and he should stay with the scene and give it his MOST important asset - his charisma.
