That is just bullshit. If you do a livecast there are to many variables that can screw up your whole tournament. The only problem you have with them is that the players spoiled the results although they are under an obligation (if I'm correct) to keep the results secret untill they are casted.

Lot of really good players around the cut-off mark, this is going to be really exciting to see who advances.

They posted a few weeks ago the maps that they were considering because they have been proven to be some of the most balanced. I don't think these new maps will be looked at because they are so new. I think today they announce the casters and maybe the maps but i'm not really sure.

Yea, not to mention that having a online tournament being casted live is an invitation for people to cheat

The real problem is Blizzard really dropped the ball with being able to freely view everyone's match history and such. Spoiling has never become so easy.

Yep, just use streams with time delays like Khaldor.

But I think that so far only own3d.tv streams can stream with a delay, someone correct me if I am wrong. If I am right, its time for other stream services to step up their game if they want to play a role in e-sports.

Who will cast Semis and finals?

The real problem is Blizzard really dropped the ball with being able to freely view everyone's match history and such. Spoiling has never become so easy.

That is indeed a big problem in the kind of tournaments like this. If a rabid fan posts the results somewhere you are already screwed.

Actually McLeod does have 14 points from an earlier round of 16. I´m dissapointed to hear he isn´t a player most consider to be good, only time will tell I guess.

Edit: Nevermind, he has to win it all.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

knowing the game has already been played isn't just the same as following it live. live-coverage has it's own flow. and seriously what's the worst thing that could happen? caster drops and has to cast a replay.. yea totally screwed up. the factor that anything could happen rather pumps up the tension for the viewer.

the cheating-issue just isn't that big. literally anyone can implant a 20 second delay on their stream, advantage is gone immediatly.

Scenarios:

1. Hasu / 2. McLeod
- Zeerax qualifies, Strelok and Select tied for 8. place.

1. Hasu / 2. Vibe
-Zeerax and Vibe qualify.

1.Kawaii / 2. McLeod
-Zeerax qualifies, 3-way-tie between Strelok/Hasu/Select

1.Kawaii / 2. Vibe
-Zeerax and Vibe qualify.

1.McLeod/Vibe / 2. Hasu/Kawaii
- Zeerax and Hasu/Kawaii qualify

So yeah, Zeerax is in for sure. And Select/Strelok have to hope for McLeod taking 2nd place.

Do you really think it is that easy to implement a delay on a stream? And it has to more than 20 seconds, i would say atleast 5 minutes.
