You're acting as if some inferior players won by luck instead of deserving the wins.
Both Cruncher and Thorzain went (in the later rounds) through a field of players that easily compete at a very similar level, and managed to secure a win in the finals. Just because you don't know some players too well, i.e. them not winning cups on a regular basis or appearing on TL headlines, doesn't mean they can't play on a high level as well.
I'm excited for the TSL3 because as much as I miss some of the crowd favorites that currently don't look as if they're going to make it, it's always good if new players emerge in the scene. To add fresh blood, innovative play and more competition.

Hehe, it does look like next weeks line up will probably end up being one of the weakest

Can't believe you guys are actually whining about "new" players making it into the TSL, worried that they might end up being "one hit wonders". There's a reason to why these guys are in the finals, and qualified for the TSL. They are GOOD and both Adelscott and Thorzain can compete with any top foreign player. If anything you should be worried that mondragon got a seed (fair due to the nature of TSL though I know!) seeing how he has literally done nothing in Sc2.

nobody should be worried about anything cause it's going to rock!

Of course it will, people love drama more than anything, I know several people who don't know jack shit about SC2 but they'll watch IdrA in the off chance that they see him rage. Not that it matters in the first place, if he had won that it wouldn't have been for a chat comment. Having an audience that is purely there to see angry nerds rage at each other isnt advancing the sport IMO.

I'm not whining, I've seen some one hit wonders before not only in SC but in DotA, HoN and WC3, it happens all the time, it's fine, they earned their place, I just think it's strange. No need to go all emotional about it. Hopefully they'll do as fine as the rest and deliver nice games, it's actually the only thing I care about. And yeah, mondragon has done nothing in SC2, but he IS effin mondragon lol, he could play tetris and people would get all excited about it, it's actually "the problem" of these new players, not having any previous knowledge and "attachment" to them makes watching their games a little less exciting.
Anyways, I'll repeat, I hope they do just fine and deliver some nice games, it's what matters, I'm not complaining, I just think it's strange.

Thorzain is an amazing player and I have seen him play multiple times. He was the mysterious player Yakero on the north america ladder with over a 70% win record. He is amazing and proved that he belongs among the top in the foreigner scene with his outstanding performance today!
Congrats ThorZaiN !! ^_^

The whole point of an open tournament is to get unexpected players otherwise it would be an invite tournament.

The only one hit wonder that I think I know of in BW is perhaps forgg? not even sure if he qualifies as a one hit wonder

Ya, I don't see what the big deal is with lesser known players qualifying. Look at Tarson who was relatively unknown when he qualified for TSL2 (at least when compared to most of the names in the bracket) and now he's pretty much considered a veteran from BW.

Practice means a lot more in this game than having past success. It's not surprising at all that current top 10 ladder players like Thorzain and Cruncher are taking out these tournaments. The one thing all the qualifiers have in common so far is that they've all been extremely active recently, playing a fuckton of games in the past month or so.

Why is SeleCt playing? I thought he already won an open?

He won a regular TLOpen, not one that was also a TSL qualifier.
