Speaking as a Protoss...mass Voidrays doesn't just only counter Hydra/Corruptor, they counter EVERYTHING :/ (except maybe mass Marine), the unit is so dumb, there seems to be no middle ground. A few void rays are bad but a ton of them are ridiculous

Mass Void Rays lose to mass mutas or mass hydras, cost for cost. The colossi are key to this composition for getting rid of hydras, and Lalush was doing well sniping the colossi until he just decided to a-move his corrupters and hydras into void rays and 3 colossi, which lost him the game.

either snipe the collosi with corruptors and kill the rest with hydras, or play mass mutas.

Yep I feel you have to focus down the colossus asap - the catch of course is that generally that gives the void rays time to charge up and the P can get some good forcefields off ;P

I thought lalush was going for an interesting infestor/muta tech switch with good flyer upgrades. I'm assuming he got the greater spire for upgrades not blords.

Khaldor is always talking about mass mutas. But I don't think that will work either against Voidray/collossi. Maybe in very late game if you remax only with mutas after your army died.

unless Lalush goes for some timing attack, I won't be surprised if the Protoss repeats what he did in the previous game and turtles while massing up VR / collossi

it does, the only games i saw seeing zerg beat that army composition, was with massiv muta usage

Judging from I've seen Zerg pros say, Mass Mutas work great the problem is actually getting to that mass because of the timing window it opens.

I guess zergs are avoiding the muta switch because they fear the protoss will just pump phoenixes to shut that down. However, when you have infestor tech like lalush did that game, I think it could work. You just have to smooth out the transition to make sure you don't die during the switch. Something to be explored definitely.

Eh, I hate when PvZ ends up with this unstoppable protoss ball despite whatever advantage zerg may have. Seems once Protoss hits 200.200 its impossible to beat them
