This is the official announcement of the Hyper Crew LAN Event #2 at the Cyber Ground Internet Cafe. Our first LAN event is early January completed success; however, we do have some changes to implement into this event. First of all, this tournament will not be capped at 32 players; we will accommodate as many players that are willing to come out and participate. On a similar note, the size of the groups in the round robin stage will vary depending on how many players sign up. If we have a lot of players sign up for this event, we may have to do two waves of Round Robin groups.
Be sure to check back to be updated on any changes to the event format. This event will be on Saturday, February 26th at 12:00 pm EST. Once again the start time is subject to change if 40+ players sign up.
Tippy's Taco will be sponsoring the event by providing anyone who attends with a buy one, get on free taco lunch! Be sure to grab a coupon card at the front desk when you get there.

woot! I'm so glad that we've finally announced it. The last one was tons of fun, and this time we get to do some live casting. I can't wait! Hope everyone is ready for some badass sc2 playing
oh yeah, you actually can't bring your own unless its a laptop. There are about 40 gaming pc's onsite. The entry fee covers an all day pass at the cafe
Glad to see you guys are doing another tourny at Cyber Ground. Redmagejr and I will be there to continue his documentary on SC2. So please sign up Redmagejr.168
Change of plans... im def. Going . Also, will there be headsets with mics? Because i plan on streaming when i get there. Stream @ www.justin.tv/illusioncss for proof. Thanks
@[Illusion] I know that Cyber Grounds has the capability to stream; however, I think the network has to be set up in a certain way to allow people to stream. Either way, I'm not sure how much uploading that the network can take as Hyper Crew will be live-casting the games once the single elimination tournament starts. I'll look into it a little more and let you know more details when I find out more.
You can bring your own headset; I don't think they provide that. I will be bringing a headset and a mic of my own. yeah, the upload speed is just fine, but I think it's that he has the network settings such that uploading might be restricted except for on certain stations.
Cyber Ground do have headsets that you can use. The headsets are not that bad. Janitor, I'll work with CG and make sure the streaming station is ready for you guys on the day of the tourny.
@ minimaxx is it possible for u to get one set up for me. Will it be a problem if i sit in one of the public computers because im going to bring a friend over. My streaming will just be casual, streaming games as usual, nothing like casting.
Wont be too much of a problem. I was hoping to just stream my game 1stpov during and after the egent because i want to stream my first lan. If possible, i will but if not, i understand
@Illusion, you will need to talk to janitor or zyori about how many streams are allowed. if multiple ones are allowed, then i can see if i can get one set up for you.
@Ipp, I've been told by the managers at Cyber Ground that we aren't allowed to bring our own desktops, only laptops. We were already planning to have Janitor stream and cast some of the matches, would you be interested in just doing a dual cast with him?
@zyori. I could cast a few games if i get eliminated. I meant stream like first person. I was planning on streaming my time there after the tourny as well. Ill mag u about it more once i get home
My experience with streaming at LAN centers is the employees walking over and telling people to stop. If we've okayed one stream then we should count ourselves lucky.
And besides, who knows what could happen? Last time I was there (two LANs ago?) an entire row of computers lost their connection simultaneously, dropping them from all their matches. Not to be a downer or anything.......
So I could send out emails/pms to like 70 contacts I have in the area pointing them to this thread...I need to do that for my lan which is already almost a month away now fml time to get to work...
I was going to mention to Zyori to put "DC / NoVA" LAN in the thread title to possibly generate some interest. We can definitely get more than listed currently.
Sent out an email to Zyori, hopefully if i dont have any equipment issue's my status can officially change from observer to participant! gettin excited to rub elbows with some like minded people for a change, either way. Good luck all!
Edit: equipment questions seem to be a non-issue, would like to officially request a spot playing in this event if that can be accommodated. Either way will be attending.
I'm gonna be getting there early with Geno to play in TL Open as well.... hopefully I don't have to deal with insane disconnect drama like last time. should be a great day.
Great job by the casters and everyone who works so hard to put Hypercrew Lans together. Awesome job. Btw...Janitor, thanks for using your inside voice.
Thanks to hypercrew guys for hosting ! Gg's everyone i had fun thx for the invite. however I still hate myself And looking forward to the luckyfool lan in a few weeks.
Yeah, everyone who attended should definitely go to lucky's LAN on the 19th.. going to be a huge prize pool and a lot of fun! I'll add a link to the OP
@All of you who came out thanks a lot for making it an awesome event. Janitor and myself had a great time live casting, and we were very excited to nearly meet our goal of 32 players :D
Tons of fun as per the usual! Livecasting was a blast :-) I really hope to do it again sometime soon... Like Lucky said, be sure to check out his LAN on the 19th! it's gonna be an epic nerd-baller smash hit!
