When you dumb anything down to that extent, you can make anything boring. When you only look at the surface of the games, shallow responses like yours will begin to pop up and plague this website. It's a strategy game, look at the strategy and all of the game mechanics at play, not just at the unit composition. Since the base-trading occurred only twice, they were relatively unique for the GSL. I don't see how seeing these games get boring when there are plenty more "standard", passive and/or terrible games that have occurred.

If nada had seiged anything, ever, he woulda won. He didn't leapfrog even once, even while pushing for, say, MKP's 3 o'clock in their third game. Just walked in and got ownt by some marines.

The people who think the same just have no reason to write, because (in my opinion, too), there was nothing noteworthy, besides maybe you seeming to be friends with MC and thus going to his booth. So probably, or at least hopefully the majority doesn't think of it as bm, or anything. As for the few others...

And about the games today: Well Jinro-Idra games were pretty anticlimatic, but I guess we can't expect super epic 40 minute games from foreigners every time. They gotta mix it up. Congratz Jinro and Idra (you still won earned yourself a shitload of money despite losing today). Nada - Foxer game 1 is probably something like game of the year material ![]() Gotta admit that MKP was really clever today.

So what is an "exciting" game? macroing up to 200/200 and roflstomping your opponent? or both players playing "exciting" standard play every single set/round? no wonder tastosis keep saying they get their brains fried reading tl forums

Since the base-trading occurred only twice, they were relatively unique for the GSL. I don't see how seeing these games get boring when there are plenty more "standard", passive and/or terrible games that have occurred. Considering I rarely say anything negative anywhere, but particularly on TL.net, but to say it's a shallow response and plaguing the website is being judgemental. Sorry I'm not a fan of his play style, at all, but I'm not. His unit control is impressive, you can't deny that. His decision making when it comes to where/when to drop is impressive and impecable. His opponents in general have a hard time dealing with his multiple drops in multiple locations (hence my previous comment about abusing the Siege Tank's immobility), etc. However, while his playstyle is different/effective, it simply isn't for me regardless of his strengths. At the end of the day, it's a personal opinion. Note I said "a personal opinion", not a shot at GSL not "everything I say is right" and not a shot at Foxer or anything else and not dumbing things down to try to "plague a website". I apologize if my opinion offended you (which it clearly hit a nerve somewhere) but it appears you took it entirely out of context and decided to try to educate me on what an RTS is instead like I haven't been around them since Warcraft 1 hit PCs (yes I mean 1, that's not a typo). In other words, I have a huge appreciation for the mechanics/strategy involved being an RTS junkie for almost 17 years, but in Foxer's case I'm having a hard time "warming up to it" (for lack of a better way of wording it), even with his unit control/decision making, though tbh I can't explain exactly why. In any case, I'm curious to see how the Jinro/Foxer re-match plays out. I suspect the best option is to have some mech in the main/expansion to deal with the inevitable drops, carefully push into position wherever that may be with a good portion of your army and try to abuse the fact that he frequently splits up his forces into multiple groups, generally leaving his main/expansion almost entirely undefended. Throwing down turrets alone is going to do little good since he just busts in with a load of marine/medivac with scans, or up a ramp, but if they're well placed with Siege Tanks covering them, it's better than moving out with your entire force when he's likely to do the same knowing your main/expansion are entirely undefended. I don't think a contain is the answer, he almost wants you to move out with a contain so he can have free reign of your main while he barely holds his main/expansions. It could be an interesting series but only time will tell.
