I have not said Merz is a bad player or anything like that. On January 20 2011 07:04 resilve wrote: Ths is exactly why Carmac posted what he did. If you say 'player X is bad, player Y is soooo much better - he should be there instead' you have to explain to us all why they didnt win the qualifying tournaments? As far as I know, everyone of them had the chance to enter - yet the either didnt, or lost. So who is better really? Many players are carried by their profile, there is never any doubt that the best way to audition for an important offline LAN is not to go through the fanmail, but to get the guys to play some damn sc2 matches to determine who has the 'right' to go. Otherwise, we would never have any new players breaking through into the pro scene, if every tournament was invite only and only the same people got invited. you too, but even worse. The guy is saying there is a lack of zerg player at the highest level regardless of balance, european talented gamers pick terran or maybe P but not T. I tried my best to stay pollitcally correct and explain, that there would be a player pool of zerg gamers with skills, yet they fail to qualify for some reason. You 2 guys's counterarguments, yes, Merz beat dimaga, Yes, all the Zergs lost hence they are worse. Do you guys really not see a flaw in that logic? I'm not trying to say there are people who don't deserve to be in there

I'd say zergs in Europe have always struggled the most out of all realms, since zerg was really weak in the release-version few people managed to persist on the highest level and really "develop" the race.

So let's double that number, because it woudl be too small, so 4-6-14 (let's exclude those in korea) Zergs: let's see who's top 4 out of the top of my head wihtout giving it too much thinking, Dimaga, Morrow, Nerchio and Darkforce Protoss: White-ra, Socke, Hasu, Naniwa, Mana and ohm, maybe Nightend and Terrans: Demuslim, Kas, Tarson, Sjow, Strelok, Naama, Goody, Cloud, Bratok ohmmm Sarens, merz, and predy? Do you think all these players (you can change some of the names to personal preference) are in one leauge, say S, and the others in a code A or below? let's try to make a code A. Z: Madfrog, Stephano, Naugrim, Lalush P: pf, im in a problem now, Bischu, ommm, Elfi? guys sorry i cant even name 6 code A Protosses from europe T: well, Thorzain i guess, Satiini, Jimpo, inuh maybe, pff, who else, Fury maybe? sorry guys im out once again. So please, put this question to yourself? Are players like merz and predy on the same level as Dimaga and Morrow? Are they above the skill level of Madfrog or Lalush? And speaking of them, are they in the same leauge as those couple enumarated, and the others who shoud be there, but i just cant name them, becuase they re simply too insignificant (could have missed 1 or 2 big names, sorry for that)? I for one could name a number of other Zergs who are really skilled such as Mondragon, Deathangel, Bly, Syz, Ciara, Osho, who unfortunately would have to get something like code B. So think this trhough and answer me, is the reason for lack of Zerg players the lack of talented gamers playing that race? I certainly dont want to start a flame-war or a race-fight, things like this could happen in a 100% balanced situation (though it would be a statisctical anomaly) just food for thought, and let me know if you really think this is the sitation It most certainly has something to do with alot of the qualifications being played pre the zerg buff. But also, there are just alot of terrans in EU, and theres not as many of the other races, even tho its getting much better with P recently. Now i dont know why terrans are doing so well in EU. Maybe terrans has something to do with the understanding being better for Terran in EU, or imbalance, or simply just due to the fact that theres more terran players, and its more likely theres gonna be more terrans than P/Z.
