But the way the pools work it does encourage teammates in such a situation to rig who wins if they really want to ensure both go through. In fencing if teammates are paired in the same pool they always go first to limit collusion. It does happen in sports, there is no reason it wouldn't happen in Starcraft if the system allows it. | ||

Just for you guys to understand the second game, MC had little time to think how to deal with the "new" Terran Jinro just invented, and his best response was "Carriers". IMO voidrays would have done better since they are cheaper and are built faster, at least early on, but what killed him is that his phoenix were clumped up and the Thors would just ROLL through the light-armor they have, which means Vikings wouldn't be destroyed, which means Carriers would be very exposed. Ideally, Voidrays would be the best counter, but in the middle of all that pressure MC wouldn't have a chance to think about it and would respond badly. Since he wasnt prepared to deal with the composition, he tried a fast non-sentry 4warpgate, which comes out faster than sentry-based ones since it requires less gas, and it went badly although it dealt enough damage to not be a full allin. He didn't throw the game, he was just disoriented since he had no idea of how to deal with mech-based play on a PvT. Just like nobody knew how to deal with his voidray pushes when using bio-based play. | ||
