Not just the european community - the whole western one. Tyler taking a PvP game off InCa and a euro taking out TOP must really help foreign gamers in their confidence that koreans are not demi-gods who you shouldnt even consider being able to beat. Even in BW it was proven that Koreans can be beaten. It is just that some people are blind to true skill and talent and when they see some Korean they immediately assume he is better than all the foreigners Say, when was the last time a foreigner won a BoX vs a progamer in BW? i believe idra vs gorush in qualifiers 1. Idra was a progamer himself. 2. Gorush is like #78 in ELO. Hardly counts. 1. But a foreigner 2. There are like 200 progamers, #78 is in the top half and as you said "a progamer", it really should count. Fine, but that is what it takes; a foreigner who's lived in Korea and played as a progamer for like 2 years vs a mediocre progamer. Other than that, foreigners literally cannot beat a korean progamer in a BoX. In BW. WhitaRa beat Boxer in BoX, where X=1.

I'd like to reiterate a point. If you aren't a korean, play on korean ladder or at least speak korean, it's unlikely you can accurately rank the current top Korean players. You definitely do not have enough information to say Top isn't a "top" korean. He is consistently on oGs rank A team. We'll have a better idea after a few more GSLs, but at this point we don't have enough data.

It's really annoying
edit : I was talking to fishinguy

Considering the huge amount of denied harassment-attempts (banshees, drops, etc.) it's a miracle that Fenix survived that long.

great game with a lot of excitement and cool multitasking by both players - gj mana!
to all the germans with sucky internet connections (like me): khaldor low quali stream, that guy is really going crazy, cool to watch him cast.

I think Mana perhaps have revolutionized PvT. I have to study the VOD some more. But it seems like his tactic of defending against banshees, drops and pushes may be viable in high level games.
He saw Fenix was going for banshees/drops and a push. And he kept his cool, gaining small advantages. And then when he had HTs out he started to push the terran.
I hope replays will be released so we can start copy his builds. It looks like its very strong vs terran.

Day9 spoiling us with the good observing.

should read back like 20 pages when one blue flame hellion killed 30 probes hahaha

I love how Fenix doesn't pull a shitton of SCV's for every attack he makes.

MaNa has really turned into a great player. Saw him as a cheesy 4-gater before but I stand corrected the latest month(s)

Mana didn't really do anything revolutionary. His build was standard for PvT, it's just that a lot of P's just simply disregard early robo tech even though it is very nearly manatory for the match-up.
Mana played very logically, also something surprisingly absent even at high levels of play among P players.

I really like that mana is building some cannons to defend drops. Protoss should do that more.

People still talk about BW in these threads? Seriously? Just enjoy the games

Fricking INSANE game, woot! Great observing, who ever was doing it. Was kinda disappointed that Socke didnt make it, but this guy is making up for it .
and.... SO MANY STORMS! here we go second game!
|
well a lot of players don't like it that Naama and Mana are really good and a lot of american players don't know them that's why they are bashing them, because they know fenix. And that makes them sad that a good player is losing
|
let's go fenix! just don't let it get to late game and you'll be straight
|
im for fenix but i kind of want to see the commentators get tongue tied casting naama v mana.

Add in his excellent storm micro and you've got a scary late game Brotoss player.

What are you talking about? Mana played VERY standard, the "difference" between his game and many other PvTs is....he made no mistakes.
