I still cant believe people were upset about that POST MLG cast. People didnt have to watch it so I dont understand the complaint about professionalism in that sense. DJWheat was professional for a whole damn weekend. He was just unwinding like everyone else and gave the viewers the privilege of seeing him and the other pro gamers in a relaxed setting. Once again, why are you referring to Wheat about this? You do a horrible job at it. Most of the things that Wheat does for eSports does not require full professionalism because it is simply voluntary. But when he is paid to cast a big event (like of Artosis), he is professional like it should be because it is a job. This is not a matter of eSports but a matter of professionalism in your job. Next time, think before referencing completely different topics in your argument.

I'm gathering that he tried some 6-gate push, missed his timing badly, and ran into the maw of hydras? Roughly this. He massed gateway units without tech and got stomped by Idra's trademark Hydra/spine push. That's not inherently bad - 5/6 gate timing attacks are extremely effective because they rely on having a fuckton more units than Z can field at that point without cutting drones hard. However, if it fails, you usually lose - it's all in because there's no chance in hell you're getting Robotech up in time to recover. However, hydraspine can be beaten by said timing attack. From reading LRs it sounds like he scouted spines/lairtech and tried a timing attack, but for whatever reason (nerves, being bad, Idra got things out faster, etc), he was late - and that is not a good thing for Protoss. Rather excessive trashtalk in that case, because if you miss the timing on any all-in, that's what happens. It's easy to look impressive if you play a turtle macro style, build up an army, and then lose it to unpressured macro Cyrano v Ret style. 'course, I didn't see Choa's games, so I'm just speculating from LR.

I really think that they'd have a lot to learn about professionalism from Day9. as much as i love day9, i wouldnt even buy the gsl ticket if he was casting.. simply because he just doesnt have the style tastosis have.. i mean hes a great analyzer... but... tastosis just more cool ![]() I couldn't care less about you buying the ticket or not, I haven't even bought a ticket myself. I'm just saying that he's a lot more professional. I agree. You have to understand that Day9 commentate about lower level basics and his speech is less aimed to the competitive scene kind of audience. In competitive gaming, people want to know and discuss about imbalances, flaws, because they are of big relevance towards the final result if you keep in mind that the high level play makes the play styles close to perfect. In other words, what will heavily give an advantage to one player are the imbalances since they have almost the similar skill level(very high). What on earth? This is so wrong I don't know where to begin. Only Artosis rivals Day9's knowledge, and his commentary imo is the most difficult for a complete newbie. Complaining about imbalance isn't "high level" at all, what on earth are you on about?

They both have a lot of experience playing SCBW and Starcraft II so I really don't think them calling a player doing something idiotic a brainless person should be considered a controversy. Let them be who they are, that's what makes their casting so good!

Isn't Tastetosis making the games entertaining being professional, because that's what they're paid to do? Make the games entertaining? Even assuming your definition of professionalism as a nebulous something that entails them to not joke around about players being brainless, why is it needed? And don't give that semantic handwaving of "because they're professional". That means nothing, it's just a tautology. Why should they adhere to your standard of professionalism? If I get offended by their t-shirts under blazers, should they change to button-ups? After all, most professionals don't wear t-shirts under their blazers, do they? THIS IS AN OUTRAGE.

They do analyze the games and do ok job at it. They are not Day9 in that regards but I personally like to be entertained too. Would be a sad day for esports if the casts can't be fun anymore, just business. Yeah remember that word? FUN. Because he gets paid by GOM as a professional caster? He is hired to cast the matches and please the viewers, which they are doing a wonderful job? I didn't mean that they should abandon all professionalism and just start drinking beer and talk about other stuff but they are not doing anything wrong now. If esports being big means that we should only hear those boring casts and the casters cannot be themselves and do jokes, I guess I don't want esports to be big. I don't know if you're just stupid or just does not know the meaning of professionalism. It doesn't only mean "drinking beer and talking about other things". I love the game sense Artosis brings in the cast but what he did is flat out unprofessional and I am sure is something that is not accepted in his field. It is what it is. Did you actually read what I wrote besides that one line? But ok lets play it this way. In that case I hope they won't be professional, ever. I like their style. I don't want Artosis to mock people all the time don't get me wrong but I'm not getting my panties in a twist over this. He just got a little too excited explaining how bad IdrA's opponents decisision making. Are people seriously this sensitive that they are actually offended by this and feel obligated to "put them in their place" by complaining to gomtv and on forums?

When u compared it to now they have improved so much. Although Tasteless still isn't like he used to be (might be due to the years of experience with BW compared to SC2) but I have seen some moments where Tasteless acts like he used to be. The spot on funny jokes in certain situations (MAKAPRIME TIME or sharks tune when roaches were burrowed). And whenever Tastosis are going too far GOMTV will call them out and correct them. Like the namechange of Tester to sSKS. When it was sSKS they just purposefully called him Tester because it's easier and known ny everyone. But nowadays they refer him as Tester when mentioning sSKS. Even though we may conceive it as an intentional insult it isn't. They may act like fanboys all the time but when they have to be professional they are. They don't hate an opponent when their fan favourite is losing rather they complimenting the opponent for playing well and criticizing their fan favourite. People are looking way too much at the negative and bad points of what Tastosis are doing. People need to give them time and space for them to improve. Artosis and Tasteless are working much better together and improving since GSL1 because they are experiencing how to work together when casting/commentating instead of other events where commentators see eachother once every month or so. Tastosis see eachother every day now and they get the feeling now when to let the other speak more so than before. For all criticizers come back in 2-3 years and then complain if they are stuck at where they are now. Tastosis bring something of their own rather than others which we've seen past 2 GSL's. You will miss something when u didn't know it was there is all I can say to them haters.
