I'm also willing to do some shoutcasting after I get knocked out (or for other games while I'm sitting out), I have some (limited) experience doing it.

I have a few suggestions, as I was at the last tourney at this location.

The sun. You will want better blinds/ a way to make the windows opaque in the afternoon/ evening. A cheap and easy way is to cover them with aluminum foil.

Visible brackets. A whiteboard would do the trick.

Lights. For much of the evening, it was pitch dark in there. Need to find a happy medium.

Replays. Request/Require the winner of the match to save the replays with basic replay info. (qxc.vs.darrenc.game3). This will make it way easier to release a replay pack afterwards and drum up interest.

There's a big-ass TV there. Would be sweet if there was a game being shown on it, assuming the players couldn't see it (positioning/curtain/other). If there will be casting, figure out ahead of time how to deal with players being able to overhear the casters. Add some chairs and you have an actual spectating area. Would be nice for those of us coming that are just donating money to the top 8.

If you have the manpower, a small side tourney for spectators and those knocked out of the main tourney could be fun. I'd be willing to donate a case or two for prizes on something like that.

I just got off the phone with the owner, and told him the suggestions. He's probably going to go frabic for the blinds and as for visible brackets we'll be using one of the big screens. We will add a bit more lighting.

Also we did show the final games on the big screen last time. =]

As for shoutcasting we're coming up with a sound proof way in order for shoutcasters to do their jobs without disturbing the players. However we'll probably hold of the shoutcasting until later on in the tournament maybe top 16 or top 8.
