sc1 managed just fine these past 10 years, it even produced games that didnt end in 10min max going for no early detection vs p or t early game as ANY race when u have 0 scouting info is just not a solid build, ure gambling for an advantage and u might just autolose, whats so hard to understand here | ||

The difference is you need lair anyway to get muta, hydra, infestor etc. You still have all your options open. Going 2-3 gate robo basicly forces you to go colossus because you can't afford any other tech paths until you have atleast 1 expo up. | ||

similar, but not the same. obviously it all comes down to scouting etc but lair is usually made by the 1st or 2nd 100gas, morphing overseer+queen to defend 1/2 cloacked banshee is easier than making an obs out without making an early robo(which can screw up the toss's build). | ||
