The East Coast thinks the Canada Cup should just be delivered to them, ezpz, and the West ain't having any of that. SUGGY stepped up and FireZerg challenged his game -- now it's on. eSports Canada is proud to announce it will be hosting and casting the WEST vs EAST show match, with our very own SCanemone and Carefoot leading the commentation, and L2SC.net's Ic3d casting with partner-in-crime NoHrt! GosuGamers.net's Micro will be casting alongside SUGGY as well to represent the East! Twenty of Canada's best players step-up to represent their side of the country to determine who defines Canadian Starcraft in a Best-of-9, consecutive 1v1 team-vs-team match.
Date: November 3rd, 4PM PDT (7PM EDT) OVER
Post-game: Tune-in to hear the thoughts of some of the West's post-game analysis this weekend on The Meta-Game podcast, eSportsCanada.net's weekly podcast. I'm sure it'll be nothing but complements. Yes. Good manners.

Wow Canada has freaking amazing lineups lol.
So, there are 9 maps for a BO9, so every map must be played, that'll be interesting to see how the strategy goes to make sure you don't have your potential 9th matchup as someone on a map thats really balanced against their playstyle/race.

Obviously East has more star power but the format could even things up a bit. If we get even one upset against east the whole tournament is up for grabs. I actually really like this format; gives it a team game feel.

Of course East is stacked, but I have a feeling it might be closer than you think. Some odd people on the West but we had very few numbers. Need more East vs West grudgematches. I should really put more effort into my practice so I can help the West fill a spot!

questionable choices for the teams, dunno how they got chosen, there are some MUCH better players not on that list not to mention some pretty brutal players there. That being said it is all in good fun, so I won't get too worked up.
Obviously east will win though, west has a couple decent players but their lineup lacks the depth necessary to take on the east. That being said, we have a much greater population over here

I dunno, I thought I did a good job making the east roster. I hunted out the MUST HAVE players, sure there could be some minor tweaks but I feel the east is well represented here.

The format actually should keep the series pretty close. If East wins a match, they have to choose who goes next and then West can build against that. West could hold back their best players when East puts em up, and save them for other matches.

It looked really BM what Huk did to the caster. Keep personal things personal, dont mess up the audiences experience by kicking out casters from the game. It was the biggest stream with 2000+ viewers.

We didn't get to field Stalife. Still, some pretty close games! GG EAST. That was total fun. Thank you everyone for tuning-in! I'd love to do something like this again in the future, 'cause we totally could have taken that. IT AIN'T OVA'.

As a British Columbian, it is really cool to have almost all of our West Canadian players all in the same area. The southern coast of B.C has an extremely high amount of pro gamers relative to it's population.
Finally I get to see the area I live in appear on the internet.

Heh, and the further east you go the less the scene is, Edmonton is thriving with their monthly lan tournament. SK and MAN have almost 0 presence. Then Ontario and Quebec have their scenes which are doing really well. The maritimes is kind of like SK and MAN nothing really happening it seems.
Can't wait for the next one!

I know this is a really stupid pet peeve, but it annoys the fuck out of me when people refer to people as 'pro gamers' when they don't make their living from it.
BC players are good - great amateurs even - that [may] have the potential to go pro, but they're not there yet.
Being a good player is so much easier than producing such significant results that someone will pay you a salary for it.
