I thought the Finals were Huk vs Idra now. But it seems the Finals are the winner of this match against the winner of the loser bracket?
If this is right, I question the system a bit. How can it be that players who win have to play the better players to advance while if you lose you can pull through the loser bracket with lesser players and still get to the finals.
If I am missing something here, would be nice if someone could shortly explain.

Double elimination. You have to lose twice. So in the Finals, if the player from the loser bracket wins, then they play again because you have to lose twice to get eliminated. If the player from the winner bracket wins, that's it because the other guy lost once already earlier in the tourney.

But there would not be two bo5/7s but an advantage (like starting 1:0) for the player comming from winnerbracket, right?

grand finals are in 5 hours.

winners bracket final (huk - idra) should be coming up next.

IdrA won because he didn't loose any drones so he had a better economy than Kiwi.

Also I'm pretty that he lost less units than Kiwi due to better micro

he had pulled all his drones from second expansion

HuK is noticeably nervous.

IdrA fighting! And here's hoping for HuK vs IdrA in the Grand Finals!

I understand that, but I would rather see some of the Loser's Bracket matches before the LB Final. That would mean more matches to watch overall which I think would be a great thing.

I have no idea what you're talking about, I was explaining the pun to Zemiron.

When was the last time Huk faced Idra in a tournament? It was IEM Cologne was it not? How did that series go? i foget.

Were they in the same group in Cologne? I remember that Huk didn't make it out of group and I think they were in different groups.

They played in KOB but that was a long time ago.

Poor DJWheat. He's a little out of his element in this cast. I like his color commentary, but he's obviously a Quake player and not a Starcraft player.

he plays a lot of sc2 now actually. and his casting is really improving. that's for sure.

Wheat's commentary is fantastic. He knows when he's reached the limit of his experience and poses a question to Day9, who explains in further detail. They work fantastic together.

I think his advantage is already that he can drop one series without worrying. The guy from the looserbracket can't.
It really tied the room together.

Yes there is advantage for winners bracket winner.... because they deserve it. Winners bracket winner is the only player who has not lost yet. You have to lose twice to be eliminated.
