It is in the map pool at MLG. MLG map pool is the old map pool.

I don't get Slush's decision making. Hatch before pool on Steps? Just too risky.
He really does understand the importance of surrounds, and fodder tho, which are critical as Zerg.
|
I'm awful, but I'm very surprised at the lack of Roach play today.
Perhaps they just don't want to try to add Roaches w/o having tested them thoroughly.
|
I think the zergs are just assuming that no terran will go reapers without the speed, drewbie is just doing it anyway and it's working out because none of the zergs are preparing for it. Either way, hatch first on steppes is just not a good idea. The rush distance is just so obnoxiously close.

Hopefully MLG won't have the same problems starting tomorrow as they did today.

Pl time. Great, interesting matches today.

Zergs didn't use Roaches because roaches were bad before, and the patch is only one day old. If you had to choose between taking the risk and attempting a slightly stronger strategy, and sticking with what you know, it's almost always better to stick with what you know, hence the few roaches.

It can work I didn't watch the whole game but I think steppes is probably the only map I will never hatch first on. hehe guess he didn't think drewbie would be so aggressive ^^.

rough start but the awesome games made up for it at least. can't wait to see more games tomorrow =D

Oh. If I was Terran, I'd definitely pick that map against Zerg.

I guess zergs are still unsure whether they can get away with an early hatch or not. I guess on steppes, the answer is no.

As for that last game, if you don't creep, you die.
that wasn't the only patch change. They increased HP of Nexus and Hatch. There were 2 games where that change saved the building.

?? That sounds like standard terran to me. It's either reapers into banshee into MMM, or it's hellions into banshee into MMM/TankMarine. Almost always some type of variation on that. Early tech harass, followed by shees, followed by a push. If you get hurt by any of the harasses, it's instant death. Terran on the other hand can go fast expo in his base with 2 CCs, get broken by a baneling bust, and have > eco due to spells -_-.

setting my alarm to wake up tomorrow and watch some more starcraft

Of course we missed that.
Why focus on a full set? I'm much rather they would bump in and out of matches.
In fact, at this stage they should have 5 machines being ref's and also equipped to stream and the commentators could switch in and out of games.
|
Thanks to MLG for providing the free stream, see you tomorrow hopefully we'll see epic games.

Not gonna lie, I think Slush's biggest problem is his overlord placement. On the 1st match vs drewbie he had most of his overlords clumped at his natural. On the 2nd match vs drewbie he lost 3-4 overlords. On that last game, a well place overlord could've been sac'ed to see the banshees coming a lot earlier
