Where are the rules? I'm primarily concerned about the maps. It was nice knowing which ones I could check off for ladder practice last tournament.

Rules and map pool is posted in the OP lemme know if you guys see anything really stupid or have suggestions please contact me. I try to make a fun and unique format and style that offers the best chance for people to have as much fun and give as many games as possible in a logical timeframe.

This format guarantees everyone at least 5 games (assuming 6 men in your group some groups will have 7 players)

The main changes people may notice from last time (and were all suggestions people made after last lan that I'm trying to implement) disconnect procedure in place. A bracket stage of 24 and tiebreaker accommodation. Ties will only need to be broken for first place in a group and 3rd place. 2nd and 3rd place will make no difference in terms of bracket seeding.

Groups will be generated tomorrow most likely. I will continue to take signups via email (I don't REALLY expect all 51 pre registered to show up but last time we had quite impressive attendance so I'm not going to bank on too many to not show)

Why no Scrap Station or Shakuras Plateau? I don't see any reason why all ladder maps shouldn't be on the list. GSL uses them, after all.

Devaztayta? I used to play TFT with that guy, he's from infoceptor. How odd! I remember in BW I was gonna go to a wcg placement thing, then I learned a couple of the {88} guys were they, and they always worked me so I never went.

This seems to be the case for this event too =X

the only changes I made from last time was leaving Scrap Station off because it was the least popular from first lan (replaced it with Blistering)

and added Jungle Basin.

I don't know the popular opinion on Shakuras but it seems ok. I just don't like to include all the maps so people can practice a bit instead of "everything"

scrap station is awesome lots of people (aka zergs) like it but when you default group play to metalopolis then of course its going to be the least popular :O

I dunno, its my opinion that all ladder maps should be in the pool. If a terran can pick lost temple against me in brackets then I should be able to pick whatever I want against him. Exempting a map because its not "popular" doesn't really make sense to me. Popular is subjective, and just because it's underplayed doesn't mean it should be impossible to be played.

For the record scrap station is my favorite map choice I do have bias in this argument but bias or not, i just don't think removing it from the map pool is justifiable. If you want to remove maps so that people dont have to practice "everything" then it should just be basin/shakuras because they are new and not many people have extended experience on them. Even then, I'd rather not remove any maps, but if you're going to remove some, I'd rather it be those.

Your choice though, I guess.

i figured i would give this a little bumpy poo just to make sure that any one and everyone from the maryland, va and dc area has seen this and is aware that it is happening next week and if you haven't signed up yet now is the time, i don't think there is many slots left but you must know that there are always a few people that don't show up so if you are one of the first few on the alternate list then you will most definatly get a chance to play. Also even if you just wanna come and check the event out to observe it is a ton of fun and very observer friendly. Even if you aren't from the MD, DC, or VA area that doesn't mean you can't come on down their are plenty of people who travel many many hrs to come to our dc lans so once again if you haven't got the memo, lan next week come check it out!!!!

on a side note

"get your skis shined up!"
"grab a stick of juicy fruit"
"The taste is gonna mooove ya"
"take a sniff... pull it out... the taste is gunna move ya when ya pop it in your moooowwth!"
"juicy fruit is gonna move ya"
"ya choose a song it gets right too ya??(Don't know what their saying in this one)??"
"Juicy fruit.. the tase, the tase, the taste! is gunna moooooooovvvee YA!!"

sc2ranks is being weird,

I'll search for myself, luckyfool.490 and it says there's no result returned.... like what is that... X_X

Trying to verify these are fairly balanced groups and it's making things difficult. Everything looks alright to me though for the most part. The 8 ~2k points people are seeded into separate groups everything else was random.

I thought I had 50 players but apparently I have 48. 8 groups of 6 players each with half moving onto the bracket stage.

this is fine though anyone that signs up from here or walks on will just replace a no show. Last time we had quite good attendance though and alot of these names are familiar so I'm expecting another great event next weekend!

I had the same problem.

By inputting my ID with the number 0 instead of 906 I was able to see my statistics. If that doesn't work, then I have no idea.

Also a friendly reminder that while we will have a few more pc's to work with this time we will have about 40 pc's and 48 players so the groups are staggered a bit. If you play in groups E,F,G,H you can show up around 1pm and be fine. If you play in A,B,C,D definitly don't show up much later than 11:15am or you will risk getting w.o'd/replaced.

Yeah I'm not sure how I feel about Steppes of war being a perfectly acceptable map while scrap station is removed...

Honestly, I'm with Nokarot on this one. I feel like it should just be the ladder map pool.

You guys seriously going to keep arguing it or just go with it I'm not in the mood to argue it but the map pool was decided.

I made 1 post arguing my point (after my initial post, asking simply because I thought it was overlooked), Corrupt made 1 post agreeing with me. Don't get so angry :/ Rob asked for critique over the rules, after all.

And since he asked for critique, I'd like to point out that just about every zerg who loses a [streamed] match this weekend at MLG Dallas has picked Scrap Station as their follow-up map choice. As Corrupt said, I'm not comfortable with the idea of someone getting to pick Steppes of War (or Lost Temple vs Terran) as a zerg player if I don't get to pick Scrap Station. Makes no sense, whether you personally like the map or not. "Being the least popular map" in the last LAN isn't justifiable reasoning, especially since there weren't many zergs in 1.1.

I will gladly welcome Scrap Station into the map pool if the JUNGLE RETARDO FUCKIN BASIN Gets the fuck out of the pool.

Not sure why you say that as Terran, but as a Zerg I know I don't like Jungle Basin. I'd say to replace Scrap with Jungle on the sheer merit that, if you only want to have 7 maps, remove the newest ones (basin and shakuras) that are the least practiced.
