Lol, fair enough! Does the first half of my sentence still hold hold true? I was under the impression he was pretty much unknown by the community, but he produced some incredibly interesting games. This was the main point I was trying to make.

In my opinion, if you can't make it to ro64, regardless of cheese, you really aren't a top player.
I'm not discrediting Moon or anyone else's talents for that matter (July/Nada/Boxer for example, if they don't make it), but right now he's probably not as good as he can be, and he shouldn't just be seeded in cause he's not in good enough form yet to make it. He'll probably have his turn next season, but this time round there are better players. There's this concept called variance. Your opinion would be less silly if you understood it. Cheese is high variance, bad players can beat better players with it. Unorthodox strategies also happen. This is a very new game, the best player in the world right now could get knocked out in the qualifiers. Show nested quote +Sure there's the viewership aspect of having a "big name" in the tourny (this is debatable because I don't care if names make it or not), but on the flip side you have to remember people are coming from across the world to qualify. It's not exactly fair to have some players automatically qualify without having any previous results. These big names have previous results in something closely related. That's why they are big names. Show nested quote +Edit: oh by the way, if I'm not mistaken, TLO was a complete nobody when everyone fell in love with him. Imagine if he didn't get to play that tourny cause some other "named" player had automatically got a spot? What if instead of TLO, it's some #900th ranked guy who cheesed his way in? What if the big name is TLO? Let's play What If. I have no problem with the format currently, but it's a completely reasonable argument to give certain players invites if you believe it'll better help launch your brand/business/e-sport.
Cute attempt to try come across as an intelligent poster. Starcraft isn't a game based around statistics unfortunately.

So are we going to have to refer to this Savior as a "Saior the smurf" forever or can we come up with an english nickname please.

Terran (박용준) is their newest recruit actually, he won the oGs recruiting tournament and was invited on the team. He has over 1.5k games as well, which is impressive.

I find it odd that we're almost halfway through the qualifiers and almost nobody from GSL 1's top 16 has played yet, not to mention the 3 decorated BW pros (Boxer, July, NaDa). Are the later brackets that stacked?

It would really suck if we see them all fight for like 5-6 spots and the ro64 looks like gsl1
biggest problem with it is we won't see the games ... boxer vs tlo to get into gsl..???... and we get nothing would suck

LiveForever isn't playing as he has to study for SAT's or something.

Referring people by their nick is a sign of respect. Are "we" already disrespecting the guy because of his nick?

I'm also seriously hoping that we won't get really stacked brackets coming up :[.
If there are 128 total participants per group, and there are 4 groups a day, that means that there are 512 people competing each day. Over the course of 4 days, that means only a total of 2048 participants, despite 2500+ people registering.
Of those people who aren't showing up for the qualifiers, I really hope that there's not a large fallout in the 250+ foreigners stated to have registered. So far, we've seen so few non-Korean names :[. If they made the commitment to come to Korea, I would have thought we'd definitely be seeing more of their names in these brackets by now.

Well when people see sAviOr they can't help but think of the player involved in the scandal. So the bastard brought this upon himself. Maybe he could come up with another nick?

Yeah and Hyperdub qualified just now. So it means 20 out of the 64 are already set but 14 out of the previous GSL's top 16 are unaccounted for (they either haven't played their games yet, didn't join this round and nobody knew, etc.).
