Hey dunno if this is lazy of me but can someone compile a list of foreigners participating (ones with a chance not random english teachers) for the OP? And maybe list how far they get if they fail?

I don't know who else is even there except TLAF and Idra/Artosis. is Select playing?

Here's the list AFAIK:

TLO plays his qualifier on Monday
Idra, Loner qualified today
Artosis, Jinro, Haypro, Luffy eliminated today

I don't think there are any other notable foreigners participating in GSL2.

Tasteless will try to qualify

No offense intended to tasteless but isn't he kind of B grade even compared to say Artosis or Idra or is this just my imagination?

He might be, but it doesn't matter. If he qualifys he qualifys. Why not give it a try if you are living in Korea. Atleast i wanna see Tasteless play again!

Definitely. Why not try out? Tasteless is also commentating and living in Korea so he has nothing to lose. I daresay that playing in the qualifiers, he is able to meet and play people who may very well go on to be televised in the tournament or in future tournaments, giving him (and Artosis) further insight into the players so they can talk even more about him/her; bringing up their own experiences.

Makes my heart happy to see moon fail to qualify. Lyn was good though so maybe some more wc3 action is to follow.

Man...Artosis

Also, jinro not getting through again is a bit disappointing, definitely wanted to see him play.

"민경환/Garnet"

PLAYXP i swear to GOD make up your fucking minds. First they said Garnet qualified (in opposition to the gomtv site, which said that 가넷 qualified), then they said 가넷 qualified, and now they're saying Garnet qualified again! Is the person who qualified 가넷 or Garnet? I'm going to just take that guy off the qualified players list until tomorrow.

Wow, relax man.

가넷 is phonetically Garnet in korean.

Just check the names who made it through. If they can beat them, they could have passed that stage as well.

No disrespect to Jinro and Haypro but it seems like it would be a better idea for both them and the sponsor to come back to the US and participate in the many tournaments here instead of putting all your eggs into one basket (GSL) that you cannot consistently qualify for.

Gotta say that I'm surprised at how few Zergs made it through today. Especially when Blizz's ladder stats seem to indicate an increased % of Zergs in the top levels of the ladder - I took it as a sign that there were more Zerg wins going around. I know that ladder skill isn't necessarily an indication that you're tournament material, but it's not like we should completely discount ladder stats. Let's face it - you don't get to be in the top 100 by not knowing how to play the game.

I'm expecting those Zergs who do get into the Ro64 (and I'm still waiting on more this season) to go further in the tournament. In particular, I felt that we haven't seen Idra playing at his top. I'm sure this season, he'll avoid some of the mistakes he made in GSL1 and that he'll go far .

It seems that today was not exactly the day of the best players. Most of the guys who qualified will probably get knocked out pretty fast.

Can anyone of the mods or anyone else who is well informed about the qualifiers tell me if these day 1 qualified players will battle it out to reach the ro4?

As in Idra vs Choya and either irOn/Phoenix in the ro32 etc?
I'm kinda confused and would like some clarification by PM or just in the OP.

I don't think you can say consistently when it has been only 2 times. Also the Heosat already replied that they fully support them being in korea.
I think Jinro just had a though group. He is climbing the ranks fast so I'm sure that after another month he will be in a very good shape

thank god TLAF doesnt have the mindset you have. haypro just moved there. he did not play alot before (said in an interview, check TL news).

as you seem to think about yourself as a big businessman let me tell you something. success comes over time. its a result of hard work. so they need time. their sponsor gives them time. your a very greedy person. hope you never have people working for you ;P

edit. i was to slow T_T

Huk is at IEM.

well it looks like the qualifying matches are done at different days so maybe he can be in the late qualifying rounds and still try to qualify for it

i hope, because i want to see how HuK fares up against the koreans

well maybe some of them had harder brackets, it's hard to say why they got knocked out but i can say that i wanted to see more foreigners, and more team liquid members making it through

Nah, GSL is bigger than all the other SC2 events combined and the experience of being there in korea is awesome too. Jinro and Haypro should stay and have fun and improve, good luck guys.
