Hmm I think this is what I'm going to be doing for my birthday.

Is there more info (like exact schedule and stuff) yet?

Edit: To be more clear, is this running all night from Sat to Sun? I really don't wan to have to drive to Lansing twice.

Well, I suck hard at SC2 but I kind of want to attend a LAN before i'm too old. :p I have no idea how to sign up though.

This, of course, if all dependent on whether my car will last an hour of continuous driving.

I'm probably down to go and I'd drive you (I'm afj).

Ohh, cool. I'll have to wait till time gets closer to check if I'm free for the day. I think nubster may be interested in going as well, and I see a few other people from AA posting in this thread as well :D

I think I'm going to come to this, possibly with a friend. Will be driving from Ann Arbor.

You can pre-register and find the schedule at http://event.spartylanparty.com. Register for an accout on the top left of the site.

The schedule (top middle link) won't be available until closer to the event, but expect SC2 to start relatively early.

Once you've pre-paid there is also a seating map for you to reserve seats if you want to sit by friends.

There will also be parking information available before the event. I recommend people understand it before traveling because this LAN is taking place on a home football day. You don't want to park in the wrong spot.

Yeah I can drive up to 5 people. If you are from AA and want a ride to this, PM me at some point w/ your email and I'll start an email with those involved. Thank god this isn't happening in the winter so I don't have to navigate snowy/icy freeways :D

Just in case other people care about the other tournaments as well: The COD4 tournament has been tentatively canceled to allow extra time for the TF2 and SC2 tournaments that are appearing overwhelmingly popular.

Starcraft 2 will have item prizes for first and second place.

A COD4 tournament will be hosted towards the end of the LAN if time still allows.

Just a friendly reminder for the helpful carpoolers This is technically an overnight LAN, but it's mostly free play from 3am to 10am. Drivers/passengers should keep in mind how late they plan to stay.

Edit: Also keep in mind space-wise that each passenger is probably bringing a computer.

Just the only thing I'm confused about, is the SC2 tournament running non stop or will it be split over 2 days forcing me to drive there twice?

Think of the LAN as one long event really, 24 hours straight. In my past experience every competitive/sponsored tournament was over by midnight (ut2k4 is later). Starcraft 2 is tentatively scheduled to start first, so it should have plenty of time.

I will be there if i can get out of work. Should be a great time.

Edit: Should we arrange for sleeping arrangements around Lansing? I dont mind making the drive up/down, but if its quite late afterwards then should we arrange for a place to stay?

2nd Edit: I live around the oakland county area, i PM'd another in this thread about setting up a carpool, i can fit 3 additional people with computers comfortably in my car (Can bring my smaller car or a trailblazer if room is needed).
Or if someone is looking to drive up there i wouldnt mind being a passenger either. Hit me up through a PM on this forum please if you are driving/want to ride in my car.

I will most likely be there. From what they've said about the SC2 tournament so far it seems like it's all going to happen Saturday. They mentioned that they are probably going to start the tournament early due to lots of interest. I don't think there is any prize pool (cash) but looks like prizes might be computer hardware for 1st and 2nd place winners.

I'm not amazing at SC2 by any means (low/mid diamond) but I've never done a LAN event/tournament and I live an hour away in Grand Rapids. Should be FUN at the very least.

Updated the op with a map pool, a few more prize details (still not final), and a tentative time.

Map Pool:
Lost Temple
Steppes of War
Blistering Sands
Metalopolis
Scrap Station
Kulas Ravine
Desert Oasis

Format: Double Elimination

Prizes: Item prizes for 1st and 2nd place. Exact items have been not been decided, but it will be in the range of a coolermaster case, or an Inwin case, or crucial memory.

Time: Doors open at 9:00 AM. Tournament will be starting as soon as possible in anticipation of a large turnout. Competitors should aim to arrive when the doors open.
