They put up samples of the quality we can get for the normal and "high quality stream" glad to see there offering a free stream, but....... well see for yourself: http://www.gomtv.net/2010gslopens1/premiumzone/VideoSpecs.php
Normal stream is gonna be painful to watch units are literally gonna be a tiny pixelated mess. At least there not calling it "HD" (like some other tournament ) the "HQ" is slightly better then the normal quality but not by much.
MLG's free stream was 600k and the paid 1200k and slightly higher rez so you got twice the quality.
GomTV's free is 300k and paid is 500k... so upgrading you aren't paying for much.

Well it's tickets for the whole season, there's only two sets of game being played tomorrow .

VOD's ontop of that 20$ also so it could be worse ^^

I think the normal quality is fine. Its free afterall. You can clearly see whats going on. The HQ isnt good enough right now thought. I hope it gets upgraded.
As far as Vods. Its standard is the same as HQ stream and its has its own HQ standard which is yet to be announced. Im hoping it will be close to 720p.

Indeed, I'm really paying for the VODs more than the quality (but a 66% increase is not a small increase in stream). It's just not practical for me to watch GSL live with the time difference and that it's competing against football season. I'd much rather avoid spoilers and watch it at my leisure.

Why? It's a service. Services don't come free, and advertisers probably aren't willing to ante up on an unproven global market yet. Maybe next season that will be feasible.

update the website so I can buy : )

May i remind you of WC3, replays are not big problem there afaik.
HONESTLY come fucking on, in wc3 (Oh and I could use the same logic you used before, "it's a different game who cares stop comparing wc3 pro scene to the sc2 pro scene") everyone uses pretty much the same build and micro is the important part, hence watching a replay of grubby (I.E.) won't make you improve or have an edge on said grubby (if only a tiny one) however starcraft 2 (since you won't take bw as an example) is a LOT about the timings of your build orders and being able to observe all of your opponents timings on everything at any time that you feel like watching the replay is a stupid advantage, plus your argument that the casters already tell you whats going on and what they will likely transition to is pure bs cause they never go through the ENTIRE build order and at what second he should get what to counter his opponent getting this at this second. You're making yourself seem like an extremely ignorant brat who just wants everything his way cause you are a "fan". As others before me have pointed out.
P.S. as another example, that I personally don't like making but still, you can hear IdrA say in an interview that he thinks the fact that you can view build orders up to the second after a game is very stupid and give your opponents a huge advantage.

If this is $20 for the HQ stream and VODs I will definitely be purchasing

Do you REALLY think this wasn't planned from the start? Think about it, they are on a budget, they have probably made shitloads of market research to determine how much revenue the gsl stream has to yield in order to make up for the other costs.
Lowering the price by 60% is so ridiculous that it's obvious they were planning it from the start. You could say: "well, how do you know they didn't lower the price because nobody was willing to pay that much?"
The answer to that question is simple. The marketing guys have probably been thinking about the pricing a lot. If they didn't think a $20 price tag would generate more income than a $50 price tag, then they wouldn't have lowered the prices by that much even now because they wouldn't believe that it would generate more money than the $50 price tag. There's absolutely no chance they wouldn't have anticipated the shitstorm that hit them the last few days because again - $50 is absolutely ridiculous, especially considering target audience. Anyone who would come up with that price tag would ever be educated or smart enough to get hired and have such influence. There's absolutely no way.
As someone already posted, this is the classic door-in-the-face technique and if you really think they actually listened to the community, well...think again. This is just a dirty way to make more money.
