"pain in the ass to use."? I've used octoshape for a couple of years at this point and don't think I've ever had an issue. I'm not saying it's perfect, but don't pretend like ustream/livestream/jtv/whatever are some godly streaming sight where all of your dreams come through with no problems.
All streams have issues and expecting something to work 100% for everybody would be awesome, but also unrealistic. I'm not saying for people to not restream, simply that people should attempt to connect until they're sure something is wrong to support mlg's stream and circuit as a whole.

Octoshape is working well for me over at http://sc2.tv
It's still an awful program to use for a paid event, or any event where you want people to watch live...
I've seen people here and other places give up watching live and just say "I'll catch the VOD later" because Octoshape doesn't work immidiately or well, or just because it takes up too much bandwidth.

i can't get the free stream to work at all, and yes i have octoshape and java installed. I've also refreshed about a thousand times. I was going to get the HD stream, but I am wary now since I can't use the free stream, and I don't want to pay for somethin that i can't even use

This runs smoothly for about ~5 seconds then it freezes.
Octoshape doesn't work for me so I guess I'll wait for the vods to come up...

I had the same problem and turning on my Firewall actually ended up fixing the problem for me on Windows 7.

again guys, right click the octoshape icon and press play, it worked for me, thats probably the hugest problem.
EDIT: If you don't see the Octoshape icon, reinstall it, that's what I did.
