FAQ Where can I find a stream? The stream will be available on the MLG Front Page or by purchasing the HQ stream. Post here if you ever experience an issue with the stream.
What is the format? MLG Compeition will be played in a double elimination format, where loser in the "Winner's Bracket" are sent to the "Loser's Bracket" and if they lose there, they go home. There are some intricacies involved towards the end but hopefully casters will explain those out.
Where can I find more information? Visit the MLG website to find out more on the rules, maps and prizes.

Enjoy my state dudes hopefully they will have more shit here so i can go to one

Good job, and I dont get a clue yet about the CET time of the matches hehe.
|
yeah, the time is a bit confusing. If you did not log in, it will display kst times, but they are on the next day (saturday and sunday). I just saw this thread and was thinking: 06:00 kst, now its 19 kst, so the first day should be long finished, why dont I see the results?
|
14 Terran, 8 Protoss 3 Zerg xD LMAO, hope MLG spreads the invite list more out on all 3 races, none the less this tournament is gonna be great, not to forget GSL is also this weekend
|
EST (North Carolina local time) schedule: (for CET just add 6 hours to these times)
Friday 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM Early Check-In 1:30 PM - 5:00 PM Check-In / Warm-Up / Account Setup 5:00 PM - 5:30 PM Welcome 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM Winners Round 1 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM Losers Round 1 8:30 PM - 9:30 PM Winners Round 2 9:30 PM - 10:30 PM Losers Round 2 9:30 PM - 11:30 PM Winners Round 3 / Losers Round 3 Saturday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM Warm-Up 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Losers Round 4 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Winners Round 4 / Losers Round 5 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Losers Round 6 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Winners Round 5 / Losers Round 7 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Losers Round 8 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM Winners Finals / Losers Round 9 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM Losers Finals 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM Finals
So for example, the Finals will start at 23:30 CET (Central Europe Time) on Saturday night.
|
FUCK im so pumped for this event, so much hype going into it !
|
I so much love that CET is calculated, double sweet.
Hopefully this will be a SICK event.
|
sorry Tyler, but you will always be NonY for me <3
|
Wow, thanks for the link. I didn't really expect anyone to notice my little updates but hopefully some of y'all are getting a kick out of our non-pro (yet!) shenanigans.

Probably more worthy of a blog than a thread in community in future
|
Haha yeah. I didn't really plan on making it a blogtype thing but i kept meeting all these cool mlg and sc2 names.
|
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. We're starting to set-up for an AWESOME day.
Can't wait seriously I'll be providing updates and info to Pachi for posting here throughout the weekend so stay tuned!
I've gotten a lot of questions about the brackets, heres how thats going to work.
Check-in ends today at 17:00ET (23:00CET). At that time we will have a set bracket which will be immediately posted here and pretty much everywhere I can find. Until then, I'll be keeping people updated in #mlg and #teamliquid on irc.quakenet.org
|
Cool video by Tyler. How much does a custom mousepad cost?
|
I am pretty excited about this event and esports in general so I decided to purchase the HD weekend pass and am very disappointed by the following:
MLG.HD System Requirements: The following system requirements are a minimum to view the MLG.HD stream. -Windows XP/Vista/7 or Mac -Firefox 3.6+, Chrome 5.X, Safari 4.05+ or Internet Explorer 8.0+ -Flash Player 9.0+ -Latest Octoshape player -Internet connection with at least 2.25Mbit download
I'm paying for the stream and I still need the Octoshape player???
It also doesn't say anything about this on the main purchase page @ http://www.mlgpro.com/live/purchaseHD
You have to go to the 'preview' to see this @ http://www.mlgpro.com/MLGHD
I wish I would have known earlier because I had so much trouble with the Octoshape in the past I certainly didn't want to spend $10 for the pleasure of dealing with it again.
|
How come so much people have trouble with Octoshape? For me it always works perfectly. Btw, try google chrome with Octoshape. That might help.

Same here, the only reason i hate it cos it requires alot of network to stream.
But can't wait!

Will the HD stream be lagfree watching from europe?

It'll be normal TL policy concerning live reports: Whoever gets there first.

I vote Brad if he wants to do it again. He did a phenomenal job during IEM.
Go Brad!

Alrighty guys,
We've just posted the official bracket and results page for the SC2 tournament. Once the Check-In period is over, we will be posting the brackets. Once the tournament begins, you will find match updates as they happen with scores and maps played the moment they're completed.
We'll be updating this throughout the tournament and it is the quickest source of score information.
The Liquipedia guys are also busting their ass to make an awesome page for the event, so be sure to keep checking that out and join us in #mlg and #teamliquid on irc.quakenet.org for active tournament discussion
Going live at 17:00 ET!
|
It isn't fun to see only Slush having a shot in this championship as Z :/
|
Uh.....what?
Sheth and Machine are both equal if not better than Slush. Not to mention Machine is the only one of the three with live event experience.
PS: Shrew. You guys listed LastShadow as an invited player and ajtls as a signup player. It should probably be noted that they are the same person.
|
It pains me to look at that GotFrag post. Bring back the glory days. :<

Well they should have a placeholder stream anyway..

Wow the MLG team is doing a great job with the coverage and presentation of this event! I love that they have a stream on their front page, multiple IRC channels devoted to tournament discussion, they have a tech team on hand and waiting to answer and fix any problems, they constantly update TeamLiquid, they have the best StarCraft 2 casters available, and they have a really nice cast of players in the tournament. Damn I am loving this - way to go MLG, and please keep up all of your amazing work in the future! I can't wait to tune into the stream!
Also, a big thank you to the TeamLiquid staff for highlighting the exact schedule for the tournament! Unfortunately I cannot attend the event in person, but it certainly will be easy to keep track of all of the coverage and highlights thanks to your awesome hard work!
I <3 MLG.Shrew.

Stream is up (make sure you tap the StarCraft II tab on the homepage, to the far right). Let me try to link it...

Pregame should have started 6 minutes ago. Right now it's just showing people hanging out with music playing.

Anyone know what the linux octoshape player url is for this?

It's on. I'm sooo pumped
Edit: OMFG the make up on Day9! So funny!

Same thing happening here. Maybe their servers are getting hammered?

only three zerg players? WTF

|
Ha, they made Day9 shave!
Stream is live, but the site seems to be hammered with traffic. Keep refreshing if you can't get in!
|
It worked on Internet Explorer for me, but wouldnt work on chrome or firefox.
|
can't get it to load for some reason. I have octo installed too. Help?
|
aacaggggghh URGE TO KILL RISING!!
Why can't these guys just get this right at the start? Or at least wait to show the content until the wave of terrible dies down.
|
Can't get in either.. Just loading.. Trying on opera and internet explorer.
|
Shutting of adblock in Chrome worked for me to get the stream working!
Edit: also try CTRL+F5 instead of just F5
|
Just refreshing alot did it for me Am in now!
|
esports going to die because none of these streams ever work

CTRL+F5 and shutting down adblock worked for me in FF :-)

seriously? are you using the free stream? just mouse over the stream and a bar will pop up on the bottom with volume and a fullscreen button.
quality goes down though at full screen with the free stream.

The octoshape code is mlg.600c (thanks AimHere from IRC!) for the free stream. It looks really nice.
I haven't been able to access the HD stream despite having paid for it

Don't work with firefox but it worked with Chrome. WTF?

It just won't work for me with anything

Hey everyone this is copied from the MLG HD Support FAQ (because some said they couldn't access the forums) and it should work for the free stream as well.
Before creating a support post, please review the FAQ questions and answers below.
You can test your MLG.HD feed here:
http://www.mlgpro.com/?q=MLGHD
MLG.HD System Requirements: The following system requirements are a minimum to view the MLG.HD stream. -Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz equivalent or greater processor -2GB of RAM or more -Windows XP/Vista/7 or Mac -Firefox 3.6+, Chrome 5.X, Safari 4.05+ or Internet Explorer 8.0+ -Flash Player 9.0+ -Latest Octoshape player -Internet connection with at least 2.25Mbit download
MLG.HD System Recommendations: For optimal performance, MLG recommends that you have at least the following system specifications for a flawless stream experience. Please note that MLG encodes in h.264 which can often tax your computer more than standard streams. -Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 Ghz equivalent or greater processor -4GB of RAM or more -Windows XP/Vista/7 or Mac -Firefox 3.6+ or Internet Explorer 8.0+ -Flash Player 9.0+ -Latest Octoshape player -Internet connection with at least 3Mbit download and 350Kbit upload
To begin, please make sure you have the following installed:
1. Make sure you have Adobe Flash installed: Get Adobe Flash Player (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) 2. Make sure you have the latest version of Java installed: Get Java (http://www.java.com/en/) 3. Make sure you have the Octoshape Plugin installed: Windows Octoshape Plugin (http://static.gamebattles.com/gb/lightsout/octosetupMLG.exe)
Mac Octoshape Plugin (http://static.gamebattles.com/gb/lightsout/octosetupMLG.dmg)
Also check your local host:
Open a command prompt and type in ping localhost. If you can't run the ping localhost command ie. If you don't get a result/response, you may have to edit your hosts file, which is located in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc.
Open the hosts file in Notepad, add the line 127.0.0.1 localhost and save.
Once done, if you are still having problems, you need to determine what isn't working.
If you load GameBattles.com or MLGpro.com and you do not see the player, then its likely that flash is not working properly. To determine that the player is not loading, look under the main advertisement.
-You should see a large black box with "MLG Stream is now loading..." -When you mouse-over this black box, player controls should appear at the bottom of the box.
If you answered no to any of these questions, you probably have a problem with Flash. You need to check to see if the plugins are installed/active.
If you answered yes, you can skip to the next bit about Octoshape Troubleshooting
FLASH TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS ------------------ In Firefox:
Go to Tools -> Add-Ons -> Plugins. Make sure the following are enabled:
Java Embedding Plugin Shockwave Flash
If you had to enable these, restart Firefox and come back to our site. Do those tabs or texts or news feed load now? -------------------
If those tabs load and you can see the stream, you're done. If those tabs load and you cannot see the stream, but get a message in the middle such as "nostream" "loading MLG Live Stream" or a white/black page, continue on reading.
OCTOSHAPE TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS ------------------- If you're reading here, I'm assuming you can load our Flash Player, but cannot view our stream. This is likely due to a problem with the Octoshape plugin.
Have you installed it?
Windows Octoshape Plugin (http://static.gamebattles.com/gb/lightsout/octosetupMLG.exe) Mac Octoshape Plugin (http://static.gamebattles.com/gb/lightsout/octosetupMLG.dmg)
Have you tried restarting it?
To do this, go to your system tray. This is the area in the bottom right hand corner of your computer's desktop, to the left of the clock. XP/Vista users should just be able to see it or click a Left Arrow to expand it. Windows 7 users should be able to click an Up Arrow to view their Icons.
There should be an icon there that is silver and shaped like an oval. It will say something like "Octoshape Streaming Services" or "Ready to Play." Right click on this and Exit/Quit.
Reload the cache in your browser, which in Firefox can be done like so:
In older versions:
Tools -> Options -> Clear Private Data - and check Cache.
In the newest version(s):
Tools -> Options -> Clear Recent History -> Drop down to Everything and click Details. Check the "Cache" box.
Make sure "No Scripts" plugins are disabled Note that in Firefox, some versions of No Script can cause the stream not to load. Please make sure to disable them by going to:
Tools -> Add-ons -> find No Script and click the "DISABLE" button.
When complete, restart Firefox and come back to MLGpro.com or Gamebattles.
------------------
I hope these steps help some of you guys, and allow you to view our Live Stream. For those that it doesn't work, I suggest trying Internet Explorer and following the installation steps at the top and the Octoshape steps at the bottom. Chrome has known issues, so try to avoid that.
Mac users, Firefox can be troubleshooted the same way, except in order to turn off the plugin, you should have to restart your machine. Safari seems to have no problems.
If none of this worked for you, please post in the MLG.HD Support Forum Make sure to provide the following information: -Operating System version and service pack level -Browser and version number -Your internet connection type and speed (see www.speedtest.net for connection speeds)
If you did not recieve a authentication code for your MLG.HD purchase, or your authentication code is not working: Make sure you: -Check your spam folder for the email reciept ON THE EMAIL ADDRESS FOR YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT. You should hvae one from Paypal for the payment and one with your MLG.HD authentication code. -Try resetting your code here: http://www.mlgpro.com/live/purchaseHD/reset

Ok this worked for me as well. Literally refreshed ~20 times
|
just open up a million different browsers and refresh them all. i was stuck on all of them for a while and then chrome randomly worked. no idea how.
|
google chrome plus ctrl f5 ftw nothing else worked. another reason why esports is better in korea, any idiot can turn on the TV it takes a computer person to get an mlg stream to work apprently
|
It seems they're just getting swamped atm. Everyone seems to say this and I can confirm that just refreshing the page until the stream starts working is a pretty good "solution", ofcourse that's assuming that you've got the plugins installed and everything.
It may be ugly, but it works.

wooot, mad love for day9, JP, husky and HD, I am excited. Time for some Doritos and salssa =D
|
can someone tell me whether the mlg signup thingy does lag?
|
you may wanna try it on internet explorer - firefox didn't work for me either, but on internet explorer it miraculously loaded asap, no lag
|
When they did make-up for Husky, were they going for the "Zombie" look?
|
I got it to work instantly with a 32 bit Internet Explorer (on Vista) where FF, Chrome and 64 bit IE refused to get it to work.
Have to complement the production as well, very pro setup. Kudos on that, this is gonna keep me up all night!

So is it 1 stream and events are in order or will the stream switch between simultaneous events at time or are streams diff altogether for each game?

nvm found it, seperate link for sc2!

I thought ElParamedico shoulda won that easily

make sure you have octoshape installed. Qhne you follow the stream link you'll first get the Halo stream, go to the top and click on the SC2 logo to watch Day9 and JP live now! man they do looki sexy with make up....cant believe I just wrote that
EDIT: daaaaaamn nice shirt JP!
|
|
i think they'll be uploading all the matches later.
|
YES! I really hope a non-terran palyer wins this!
So if I understand correctly Incontrol lost one time to gateway cheese and won 2 times?
|
|
Where can I find the VODs?
|
Anyone know where the vods are?
|
If they run SC2 like they do Halo, you can watch the vods a week or two after the event, they post them backwards usually(starting with finals, and ending with the early rounds), and Halo will probably take priority over scII uploads.. so wait 2-3 weeks.
The rebroadcast is on right now though

Been noticing it myself too. Hoping it gets fixed.

Sorry if this has been answered, but how will the finals be handled? Is it going to be a bo5 with the guy from the winner's bracket starting out with 1 or 2 free wins?
|
It's very likely that VoDs won't be up until after the tournament.
As for the screen option. At first I changed my resolution (1600x900) which made it fit. For me its fixed now though, so i use the normal resolution again (1680x1050 for me)
|
The first day was soo fun to watch both Day9+JP and HD+Husky was very good to listen to and some of the games was very good(that terran vs protoss with motheship at the end was insane)
|
I'd love to hear any statistics they may be releasing about how the SC2 community supported MLG. I'd just love to hear how many viewers and how many HD subs they sold because of the SC2 add. Also would be great to hear how many ticket sales they had because of SC2. I just want to feel good about the community! Hopefully JP can enlighten us after the tourney.

VODs take a few days for us to process when we come back from the event, and tbh, we're all basically sleeping on Monday when we get back, so look for the championship VODs up first, with the rest to follow over the course of a little bit.
Replays will hopefully be up after a bit as well for the entire tournament, but that's going to be quite a few for us to collect and catalog.
Please keep the feedback coming as well. I'm peeking in here now and again, but will be reading up when I get home. (jus a little bit busy right now).
Thanks,
Lee

Oh man, ElPerimedico using his own forward pylon and units to charge up his void rays was brilliant and devastatingly effective.

First post on TL.
I Recently got involved in watching pros. Where/When will I be able to download the replays??
|
Were there runoff matches for 9th through 16th or will the slots be assigned a standard of rank points?
|
|
The commentated replays will take a few weeks to get up since Halo 3 is the main priority but I'm hoping they will bundle all the replays throughout the tournament into a zip and upload to watch with SC2 itself.
Just saw this

Thanks for the event, MLG! I had a blast, drove 6.5 hours from Atlanta to come. Hopefully you guys see the potential for bigger SC2 tournaments. My only suggestion is better accommodations for the SC2 spectators. Two benches, one speaker, and one screen just wasn't near enough.

Luckily I was a competitor and could watch a lot of the matches up close to the players, but the spectators had to rail or try or try to find a spot on the 2 benches or on the floor.

I lol'd.
Really liked how different most of the protoss matches were and inspired me to start playing again instead of just watching.
